Anyone fancy a Bond quiz? Anyone think they know their Jaws from their oddjob? If you wish a difficult bond quiz for today, reply here and I shall provide.

    If not, I willn't.

  10. 1. Sir Godfrey Tibbett (Patrick Macnee): in A View to a Kill, killed by May Day appearing from the back of the Rolls Royce in the carwash

    3. different actors playing Felix Leiter : at least half a dozen, including changing from white to black and back again !

    9. Thunderball remade : Never Say Never Again (Connery returned, looking old and fat)

    12. Kissy Suzuki : she marries Bond (but so does Teresa/Tracy Diana Rigg in OHMSS, so can't be that...).
He loses his memory in the book and thinks he is a Japanese fisherman, lives with her - do they have a child ?

    14. 006 murdered : Golden Eye (Sean Bean)

    15. Bond actors : mmm, you want these in 'longest continuous years service' - hows that work with say Connery going away, coming back after Lazenby, coming back later again for Never Say Never Again ?
And who is longer of Lazenby or Craig, one film each ?

Moore - greatest number of films
    Connery
    Brosnan
    Dalton
Lazenby & Craig - one each

    17. Timothy Dalton declined : OHMSS

    19. Octopussy bomb defusing : clown's outfit

    Me??

Been on hols for a couple of weeks.

And generally not got the forum bug at the mo.

Also, only working part time, which means that I both spend less time at the computer (in general - less time at work = less posting ;);)), and when I am here, I'm generally snowed under!!

Last day of work today though, will be working from home from now on, running my and Mrs M's business..... which is a challenge!!!

    1. Which film did Sir Godfrey Tibbett appear in, who ended his life, and how?

A View to a Kill. He was masquerading as Bond’s chauffeur, and May Day strangled him in a car wash.

    2. How many official bond films has the character Felix Leiter appeared in?

    Nine

    3. How many different actors have played Leiter in official bond films?

Eight. Only one actor has reprised the role – David Hedison played Leiter in both Live and Let Die, and in License to Kill. Another interesting snippet – the first Leiter (in Dr No) was played by Jack Lord. Allegedly he didn’t continue as Leiter as it was feared he might overshadow Connery’s Bond in popularity.

    4. In Dr No, what is the character normally referred to as “Q” called?

Major Boothroyd. This is “Q”s real name. Q stood for Quartermaster. Only once more in the franchise is Boothroyd referred to by his name.

    5. What does he equip Bond with in Dr No?

    His signature Walther PPK

    6. How tall was Jaws?

    7ft 2in

    7. How tall was Nick Nack and where did he end up?

3ft 11in. The wee man ended up in a crow’s nest.

    8. What was the name of the henchman in Live and Let Die who had a metal arm?

    Tee Hee Johnson.

    9. Thunderball was remade as which “unofficial” Bond flick?

    Never Shay Never Again.

    10. One of Ian Fleming’s cousins appeared as a bond villain. Whae

Christopher Lee no less, who donned the extra nippy.

    11. What was the name of Goldfinger’s operation to detonate a nuclear bomb in Fort Knox?

    Operation Grand Slam

    12. Kissy Suzuki appeared alongside Bond in You Only Live Twice. In the literary series, what distinction does this character hold over all other Bond females?

Out of all Bond’s lovers, although the film ends differently, Kissy holds the distinction of being the only girl ever to conceive a child with Bond, a son. In the book, he suffers amnesia during the final attack on Blofeld’s lair, and spends a few months living with Kissy as a fisherman, before heading off to Russia, where he believes the secret of his true identity lies. Hats off to Andy!!

    13. What is the name of the restaurant that Bond follows Kananga, and first meets him, in Live and Let Die?

    The Fillet of Soul

    14. Which film saw Bond’s colleague 006 murdered in the opening sequences?

Goldeneye, Sean Bean. But it turned out he weren’t dead after all.

    15. List the main actors who have played Bond in the series, in order of longest continuous service, starting with the longest first. There are six in total.

    a. Roger Moore
    b. Pierce Brosnan
    c. Sean Connery
    d. Tam Dalton
    e. George Lazenby
    f. Daniel Craig

    16. In Dr No, an undercover operative named Quarrel helps Bond. Quarrel’s son aids Bond in a later film – which one?

    Live and Let Die

    17. Timothy Dalton first appeared as James Bond in 1987 in The Living Daylights. He previously declined the role of Bond for which earlier film in the franchise?

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Although he was again offered the role in the late ‘70s, so will accept any from that era.

    18. How old was Roger Moore when he first appeared as James Bond?

    45. The old codger finally chucked it at 58!! I didn’t know this but Roger Moore is older than Sean Connery. Interesting yeshhhhh.

    19. What was Bond wearing when he defused the bomb at the end of Octopussy?

    A clown’s costume

    20. Excluding the effects of inflation, which is currently the highest grossing Bond film of all time?

    Casino Royale (2006)
