York Cycle Show

A friend who lives well out of my area has begun a cycle-related business.

He's had a trawl of cycle trade fairs etc for the coming year, and is thinking of what to show at. York looks a biggy, at least by their own admission - have you been? Is it worth a day out, is it any good?
He's booked in for a Cycle Show at Birmingham NEC, the stand fees are exorbitant. York's a lot better for price, but I'm sure I remember people on here saying that they didn't reckon much.

I went the year before last, it seemed ok, but it was a week before payday so I never bought anything

Certainly can be a good day or even weekend out, now if your guy is selling secondhand inner tubes with only 5 punctures for 50p he will do well. The rummage/saddle bag sale is often a site to see, so I am told.
