I dunno... Sometimes it's nice to sit back and watch something familiar. Same as curling up with a favourite book. Good stories, whether on visual media or on the printed page are always worth revisiting. They're almost like old, familiar friends. 
Having said that, when you've got something that's well-written, you often find yourself noticing things on subsequent watchings that you never noticed first time around (or even umpteenth time around!).
Babylon 5 is a classic case in point here. It's amazing how much depth JMS managed to squeeze into it.
Plus, when watching Trek, I love to play "Spot the Babylon 5 actor"
