When I search for bike parts and I find them, I keep them bookmarked in my browser. From time to time I delete the obsolete ones. About two or three years ago I swapped the cup and cone BB on my hybrid bike for a cartridge. That bike has now been sold, so when I cleared out my old bookmarks, I click on them, first, to see if anything has changed. That BB cartridge is now out of stock wherever I looked. It drove the bike parts shortage home to me.
