My bike in front of the Moray Firth at Kingston. The shore used to be about 100m further out than this, it’s shrunk back significantly in the 30 years we’ve been here… they bolstered this shingle bank last year, there is a low flat nature reserve behind here which would easily be inundated by spring tides otherwise. The scouring effect of the Spey, especially in flood, probably adds to the erosion.

This is my circa 2001 Thorn XTC SWB… I have just resurrected it with higher and wider handlebars which have completely transformed it, I no longer bend in the ways that I did 25 years ago! I feel like I’ve just got a new bike and for the first time in years really enjoy riding it again.

Well, not actually my bike but the e-bike I'm borrowing while I'm doing my heart rehab. I last drove my car in June (I think), and doubt if I'll drive it till October, so it's a bike for the commute past The Double Locks to the university. Testing out a new pocket-size second hand Panasonic Lumix. Seems OK.

Nice ride last night finished off with a pint on a very quiet Richmond Terrace. The water's a little way off, but that is a nice spot.

My Rans at Bridgemere ford on Dingle Lane, Bridgemere, Cheshire. A stream runs across the road behind the bike. It's quite muddy and sandy and extends for about 30 feet on a bend. It's coned off with Road Closed signs. The bike is on a raised footway which runs alongside it.
