Your bike in front of some water - pictures

I crossed it with a bike sometime in the 80s. I don't remember much about the aqueduct but what I remember as being scary was that once you were across you entered a pitch dark tunnel with a narrow towpath, a low curved roof and a risk of falling in the canal.

When I look at many of the things built around the Industrial Revolution, I realise why "Health and safety" is a thing...

On my way round the Wirral Circular Trail at Seacombe viewpoint near the ferry terminal a couple of weeks ago. Rans Stratus XP, random mountain biker, river Mersey, a cruise ship (the Azamara Quest), the Liverpool skyline.

The Rans in front of the marine lake at New Brighton on my Wirral Circular Trail ride. I'd hoped to ride round it but the place was heaving with people so wiser not to.

On the Rans heading for home after reaching the turning point on my Rans Circular Trail ride of a couple of weeks ago. After riding into a strong wind up the Mersey coast it was a relief to turn left along the coast at New Brighton and have it mostly behind me to Hoylake where I would turn inland. Here, on Wallasey Embankment with Liverpool Bay on the right, wind turbines in the distance and Leasowe lighthouse just visible ahead, it felt like the home stretch, counting down from 50 miles.

These pictures make me feel a tad homesick which is strange because I mostly lived a long way from the sea.

I can generally cure this by going on street view and looking at some of the places I did live in the UK.
