They’re mating ! Found one 10 miles up the road in Beccles. Now made roots in Lowestoft, Suffolk too……..

They look a similar thing to the Shaun the Sheeps that were all around Newcastle a couple of years ago.

The Drill Heads atop the giant ex-slagheap that was Weetslade Colliery, now Weetslade Country Park, just north of Newcastle.

The Sundial, on top of another ex-slagheap which is now part of Silverlink Biodiversity Park, east of Cobalt Business Park ~ the whole place is a maze of cycle paths and green spaces around the office buildings and modern factories.
I was talking to a chap on the way back through the Tyne Cycle tunnel who worked up there and must have commuted from the Jarrow area, through the tunnel. What a cracking cycle commute that would be.

A forgotten two aspect signal hiding amongst the trees alongside the closed Weetslade colliery railway line, just next to the east coast main line at Killingworth.

View point on old colliery that was opencasted in the 90s then infilled with rubbish and landscaped. Now a golf course numerous multi user paths and lakes. Also home to a giant lizard.
