2 more today, well 3 actually as I went past the Bilby one again, but this first one is at Hardwick village in Clumber Park, it says cyclist dismount & there was a family coming over the bridge, didn't half cause an argument between son & mother when I rode through it, I got the impression he wanted to as well.

This one is on a Byway at Elkesley at the A1 didn't ride through it, it looked quite deep & a sandy bottom, maybe one for a hot sunny day

The ford on Westfield Lane at Thorner - one of just two fords local to me.
20190525_151457-COLLAGE.jpg

It only appeared to be 2-3 inches deep at the moment, but I didn't attempt to ride it - a combination of slick 25 mm tyres, and being clipped in probably made that a bad idea. The ramp down from Main Street looked a bit gravelly but the actual base through the ford looks OK.
That said, a moment after these pics were taken a van went through and from the way it bounced about in a couple of places there are clearly one or two underwater potholes to be wary of.

This one regularly used to cause problems, & still does!!

Pickles Gill Beck
Storiths
(ie; at the opposite side of the River Wharfe, to Bolton Abbey)

It's a sharp descent to it in a car, my Octavia estate comes down at over 2,500RPM, in 2nd gear! (if I don't intermittently brake)
Complete with a bend just before it!

Digressing into (quite literally) deeper waters

Has anyone ridden the Morecambe Bay Byway??
That has several fords (long & deep)

I've run over the Bay, back in 2009, in the 'Cross-Bay Challenge' (my first 1/2 marathon)
VERY carefully waymarked by local fishermen, & no-one cut any corners

They alternate it, & times/dates are tide dependant
We ran from Flookburgh (South Cumbria) to Hest Bank (Lancashire) - coming ashore by the WCML level crossing

There are still signs there, warning not to drive on the sands (or were...)

Looking confident (I think) before the start
