My sister is staying in some holiday cottages opposite at the same time. I think my folks are going too. Be nice to have a wander to the pub for tea or the fab chippy (I believe).

The walk from the site for about 1/2 a mile is single track unlit road towards Benllech. Lots of people off the site walked it(even with prams). Outside of daylight hours it would be quite dicey. Only approach the site from the Benllech side in a vehicle NOT Marian-glas. My XC70 had to breathe in.
The Ship in Red Wharf Bay is nice to sit outside, only 10mins-ish from the site by car.

Talking to a friend who has an nv200 camper said it's a bit tight for two!
Your van looks ideal!

Emptied it... Two hours to pitch everything and tidy up (plus taking a break)

Just had a bit of CX biking across the site and the shore to work out the walking route to the heritage railway (Bala) as we're having a trip on Saturday. Lovely site, pitched 100ft from the lake

Just had seven nights in North Bewrick (Scotland). Lovely place, lots to see and do locally and the weather was smashing (apart from 1 wet day). The only down side was we had to leave the bikes. I already knew towbar carrying 2 eBikes and camping wasn't possible, but even with them on the roof the car seemed very heavy on a test drive so I left them at home - it was a long drive and better safe than sorry!

Only have 1 picture, and it hasn't got a tent in it lol Need to do a picture exchange with my camping partner.

Lovely. Trying out our Decathlon awning tomorrow. Last minute trip to Dyserth just for the night. MrsF want's the swimming at Prestatyn, then we are doing an early dart to Llyn Padarn. Van packed already. Loving my flexible seats. Middle two captains seats have been put in the garage. The rear three seats, I've slid the double forward to the middle level, so daughter had lots of space, then filled the space behind with all our camping/paddleboard/kayak gubbins.

Me and the dog have had three nights in Suffolk, a week in Mablethorpe, and a couple of youth hostel camps in the lakes so far this year. Paid £9 a night at Grasmere hostel. Dogs welcome when camping.

Now that's good to know. I wouldn't have thought about trying a Youth Hostel. Do you have to be a member to camp there?

Appears to be like using a YHA bed: members get a 10% discount, all welcome. (although they may have limited spaces, do check!)

For comparison, we paid about £11 for slightly less facilities at the (vv nice) Caravan+Camping place by the lake in Keswick. So YHA is v good value - something you won't read very often in 2025, let alone on a cycling forum   :P
