A grove of young sequoia in the woods above Long Ashton, Bristol. About 150 years old, mere infants compared to their Californian cousins. Fabulous.

Just a wee rabbit but we don't see many around the canal in Glasgow.
But on one stretch in Maryhill they've been spotted every day recently

Cinnamon caterpillar

Any idea what's been digging on my, er, 'lawn'?
About 28mm in diameter I reckon, and about 75mm deep before it goes off horizontally to the right.
Rat? Vole? Mole? Snake?
Anyone hazard a guess?

I'll get some batteries for my wildlife camera and see if I can get a picture tonight.

Young Fox has been half-heartedly pursued by Badger in the past few nights:

but saw the opportunity to restore his/her self-esteem this morning when one of the (too) many local moggies got a nasty surprise.
