Another double hog visit in the garden last night

Walking back from the village at lunchtime, came across this Slow Worm going across the lane. I gave it a helping hand so it wouldn't get run over.

Plenty of deer about and this one spent some time with us this morning. Seemed pretty relaxed, just standing and watching us, but I suspect our rhubarb has taken a hit. Excuse dodgy phone photo.

I think most people would regard that a small sacrifice.

Personally I'd see it as an extra bonus...

He/she was back this afternoon, on the terrace munching the recently planted shrubs and herbs. Stood there for a good five minutes, watching us watching him/her, then ambled up the bank and further into the garden. Took shelter from the rain under some trees for another five mins, then ambled off into woods. Trashing the garden but I’m not sure I care, great to be so close to wildlife.

a few weeks ago, while on a road trip w/ his girlfriend, our Son came across some wild Armadillos in South Carolina (US). the ppl he met in the area said they return every year to nest. they interact w/ pedestrians. there are several than return to that area each year. this couple return to the same spot & it's a good one, out of view. the other pics he showed us looked like an ordinary neighborhood w/ alleyways & yards

It looks like we have at least 3 Hedgehogs coming into our garden .

As a couple we caught on the camera together and then a much larger singular one , but forgot to download the pictures before deleting them
