No photo but we sat outside a Bridgwater cafe this afternoon and were treated to 15 minutes of a kestrel hunting just across the canal from us.

I can see why an old name for them is windhover; it hovered perfectly, facing into the wind, for longish periods.

Saw my first House Martin of 2023 this afternoon from the back garden.

And just seen my first ever alpine swift. Apparently there is an influx of them.

I see buzzards on most rides & today at first glance I thought that's a weird buzzard turned out to be a Barn Owl out at 3 in the afternoon, but in a pretty quiet location.

Saturday nights camera footage showed we had at least 2 hogs wandering around the food station which is good.
Last night I peeped through the curtains and watched a hog wandering around a part of the garden that is not a place I use the camera in so will do occasionally from now onwards.

A bit melancholy so when sun popped out at 5pm went for a short walk with bins, coffee flask and something waterproof to sit on.
Rewarded by a 15min display of barn owl quartering a field.
