... delighted to see red kites spreading more widely in Devon. I know they are common elsewhere, but it's been a bit of a desert in Devon, for whatever reason.
The main reason being that they've made their way - in just a couple of decades - from Mid-Wales and/or South Oxfordshire! :-)
(One would suspect the latter, owing to much superior transport links. I live a few miles from the South Oxon site and they are an almost daily sight over our garden. If someone has a barbeque, a Kite's attendance is almost guaranteed :P )
