... delighted to see red kites spreading more widely in Devon. I know they are common elsewhere, but it's been a bit of a desert in Devon, for whatever reason.

The main reason being that they've made their way - in just a couple of decades - from Mid-Wales and/or South Oxfordshire! :-)

(One would suspect the latter, owing to much superior transport links. I live a few miles from the South Oxon site and they are an almost daily sight over our garden. If someone has a barbeque, a Kite's attendance is almost guaranteed :P )

our past cats were fond of sitting under furniture & not often out in the open. we always knew why ... Rosie the cat was acting shy early this morning, then I saw this on the camera. she must have witnessed the whole thing. I think it's a "Northern Goshawk"
