Rats.

It's not impossible that the first/last one might be a mouse. But mice have very skinny tails and are tiny compared to rats. Rats have thick bare tails and are horrible and must die.

A friend of mine of mine had a pet rat for a while. Rats, it turns out, are very smart and can think through quite complex plans to get what they want. They are also clean if given a clean environment.

Ive heard similar before but once you've had them come uninvited into your house such considerations go out of the window. I hate them. I have no compunction about killing them, be it with traps, poison or hand to paw combat with a spade.

since our backyard camera is wireless, I turned it around facing where I thought the recent critters were coming from. didn't want to see them emerging or going up into behind the siding. glad I didn't see that. hoping the rat was a 1 time thing & it was just passing thru, running around all the buildings. 3:12am saw just the 1 little mouse

hard to see here but it only ran alongside the building & not up under the siding. the blur in the back

contacted a pest control company & our condo management company & ordered a cpl more cameras for around the house. I have some homework & further investigation to do ...

I understand. On the City farm I worked at, we could hear them running through the buildings, and one of my colleagues was the designated rat-catcher. Once a rat tried to stop him coming onto the property: it stood in front of him on its hind legs and hissed at him, then when he tried to go around it, ratty would run in front of him again and repeat.
He's still convinced they knew he was responsible for the traps.

I know this is going to get repetitive & boring. maybe I should start my own rodent thread in the home diy subform. turns out little mouse may be staying in our outside a/c compressor housing. might be time for mothballs?

more cameras should arrive today. intended for inside but may use them outside as well

One of the pleasures of eating out on my balcony here is lizard-watching, and grabbing my Sony super-zoom camera if I see one. This one turned out well.

Not today, couple days ago ceab catching at Weymouth, the usual drop net with a little bait bag inside. Hauled one of the girls nets up and found this little fella...

Apparently (judging by the lovely green colour)..a juvenile Ballen Wrasse, grow to be much much bigger, a couple feet or so It was pure chance to be either passing as we lifted the net...or.may have been trying to get the bait.
