a young buck came by! don't usually see points in my backyard

still annoyed the condo police made me move this camera inside & consequently has to record thru 1 window, 2 storm windows (since we don't close this one) & a sheet of one-way reflective mylar, for invisibility from the outside

works OK but this would otherwise be much better if the camera was outside

Excellent that, many thanks.
I am no expert but didnt realise the juvinile had the yellow features.

it can be confusing as the other two types of (UK) wagtails both feature yellow plumage.

The Grey Wagtail has a mainly yellow front and a black throat but not the black "bib" that the Pied does. Also, its tail appears longer

There are seasonal and individual variations

Morning ride along local canal, divebombed by Lapwings. It's their nesting season, and they like you to know it.
They fly straight toward you at eye level, only swerving off at the last second, same tactic these past couple of weeks.
Cattle sometimes graze along the verges of the canal, and Lapwings go berserk trying to avoid nest being trampled.
On a couple of rare occasions have had a close up look at the 'nest' - a scrape in the ground with camouflaged eggs, looking in peril.
Never a dull moment over this way
