Your day's wildlife

LOTS and lots of birdlife out there today but almost always just fleeting glimpses in shrubs and hedges, quite fustrating, very few chances to get the camera on stuff. But...
Female Roe Deer, looking quite skinny, possibly feeding fawns.
3x Cuckoo, coulda been the same one three times, always in flight.
Female Blackcap, very close but only for maybe 2 seconds.
Mistle Thrush, quite distant on some meadows.
Heron
Stock Dove (probably, may have been a jeuvenile Wood Pigeon, but couloring was more Stock Dove
Buzzard in trees, its nest is nearby.
Terns, G C Grebe, Swans, Great Tits, Blue Tits and Whitethroat with young nearby...

I am not a fan of starlings but this one was feeding its young on the patio.

An adult fox, probably a dog judging by it's size, trotted into the garden, went down to the far end and then louped the 6' high fence over into the allotments.

Notable today, treecreepers. Kinda gutted, I had the camera but as I'm learning, I am making mistakes..mixed light, under trees, some sunlit, some in shade so tge exposure was all over the place and I lost a lot of the few photos I did get..I will look later, see if anythings worth showing.
Amazing so see them plumb upside down on branches, watched for 5 minutes as one foraged and fed a wide mouthed youngster that was following it.
Nice stag roe deer, not old, very fresh looking and vibrant.
Grey Wagtails along the river.
A posse of Canada geese and maybe 20 gosling, all I a long line, single file, paddling up the river.
Hopelessly overdressed, mild and overcast when I went out...blimey, must be 22 out there now perhaps ?

We have let a large sow thistle grow up against the living room window and it gets us some great wildlife up close.
Bullfinch, eating the seed heads.

Not paying attention today, ISO required continuous adjustments so a lot of what i took today were all over the place. I'm reluctant to use auto ISO because it often seems to overexpose anyway,...yes i can bring that back after but then you lose colour.
quietly wishing i had brought a Canon mirrorless from the start, but then, im learning, can't expect it all to come together without hard work

If you think auto is consistently overexposed, can you set a constant, for example, 1/3 stop under in the menu?

It had occured to me. One trouble is, im so often photographing sometging , often incessantly moving (not so much the deer) that its often point and shoot just to be lucky enough to get the subject at all.
Im getting better, faster, but often, in the moment. You forget, point and shoot..oh.
I may have a further play with autoISO, see if I can set a constant slight underexpose.

Among other things today, a Kingfisher flying along the riverbank.
A Wren, stood really close, watching it from maybe 10ft away for maybe 30 seconds..then the second I reached for the camera ...
A Little Ringed Plover

The hue looks odd because this was from a RAW image, pre processing . Once I opened it on the PC, just wasn't focused well enough and at the full length of zoom, it wanst that good so i dumped it.
There's a whole bunch of folk that are regulars there and are.monitoring some layout and habitat changes to tgis area so are always eager to hear what waders are visiting

nearly 4 hours out this morning before it gets too hot...
Cuckoo, perhaps won't be long before they disappear off. one was calling from a perch quite a way off but visible with binos.
LOTS of fledgling Long Tail Tits around, they really are quite tiny things
All the usual stuff plus these..

Parent Chiffchaff nearby, lots of young calling. Under the leaves with light background made this overexpose, got it back a bit but...

Moorhen with crayfish perhaps. Again, overexposed but heyho, i'm learning and having fun doing it
