Your LBS could be selling fake components

How long until the fakers manage to make oval tubes? Give it a few more years and it will take an expert to spot a fake. I'd expect the manufacturers to take the lead and introduce something that is very difficult to fake. After all, it's their brand and reputation at stake.

On the fake Dogmas that appeared on ebay a few years back the down tube and top tube were the correct shape but they had used a round section seat post tube for some reason which was a dead giveaway you could spot a fake from 30 yards away.

They could easilly make a perfect copy they would only need one original frame to make a perfect replica mould.

Most of the Chinese copies are probably ok but I would not trust one and also you are supporting organized crime by buying one.

Another thing to consider is Trading Standards officers could seize the bike under counterfeiting laws.

If I recall many of the fake dogmas are copied prince frames rebadged which is why they have the round seatpost
