A MAN in his 20s fell into the River Foss off Foss Islands Road in York yesterday.

Passers-by and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue pulled the man from the river and left him with ambulance crews, which took him to hospital.

He is not believed to have been in the water very long or to have sustained serious injuries

Front Page Headlines!

http://www.noblad.no...epark-1.5673256

The kids here want a skatepark; at least it's cycling related!

The headlines aren't normally as exciting as this!

we got one in bolton, against all the moaners who whinged about the money, they have a little park near the town centre.

its fab, instead of people feeling 'hassled' by skaters sitting on the town hall steps and scraping the stone,,, the shoppers walk past , stop and watch the kids 'showing off their leet skills'... seems to be a mix of boarders and bmx'ers ;)

A colleague at work told me about his village (in deepest, darkest West Oxfordshire) newspaper that had the headline:

Man goes to London.

When the Titanic sank a local newspaper had the headline:

Local man hurt in boating accident.

haha,

visited my auntie a few months back, was talking to my young cousin,, he had missed out on some award for his cycling proficiency ( or somesuch)... he came second with say 500 points, by 10 points..

why? he missed out on 20, because his helmet was loose

tbh, whilst we may argue about the sense of them, if it makes him read the manual/ listen to the bloke saying how they should be fitted, then its a good thing tm...

My local paper has a 22 years ago column, also 44 and 88 years ago.
Last week we were informed that 88 years ago Mr William Johnstone, son of William Johnstone, General merchant, Crawford Street, had returned to America folowing a holiday in his native town.

A seven-year old boy is hoping to be reunited with his life-long companion.

But earlier this year, Teddy took off on an adventure of his own, somewhere between Tor View Avenue and Benedict Street in Glastonbury.

Not my local paper, though I did once live in Orkney, but some headlines were "Big Tree For The Chop"

"DML publish formal submission on ferries review"

The David MacBrayne Group (DML), which comprises Caledonian MacBrayne and NorthLink Ferries - the principal operators of the Clyde and Hebrides lifeline ferry services and the lifeline services to and from Orkney and Shetland - has, on Monday, published its formal submission to the public consultation on the Scottish Government’s Ferries Review.

More boring headlines can be found every week on the Orcadian website or in the Orcadian newspaper.
