Felt "up for it" today, good job I wore extra clothing though as although the temptation was to go for it, I wanted a more relaxed ride.........................................and nearly froze to death!!!!!!!!

first ride needing lights last night, wasnt the longest off road 1 other got wet and wanted home but great fun, felt fab. the mist and light effect was great and the the rain it was like riding at warp speed

Just my ride into work this morning. Pleased with myself as I kept my average speed over 16mph, and considering this is on a 10+-yr-old Falcon Explorer and I had one of those 'I'm-not-a-headwind-I'm-a-headbreeze' things we seem to get a lot of in the Fens, I didn't think that was too bad. Legs felt like lead weight though, and I must get a breatheable cycling waterproof and some thicker tops, as my newly-aquired Aldi long-sleev shirts aren't warm enough on their own and my pocket jacket is definitely a boil-in-the-bag jobbie!

nice and quiet ride yesterday from ardwick to eccles, then a short night ride across to urmston, I forgot what a difference good beams make for being seen.

rode along the beach on the sand at low tide with my 75 year old Dad and his two artificial hips...how cool is that.

31 miles, a mix of rush hour traffic in the city and empty countryside cyclepath. I love this time of year, not too hot or cold..just a slight sweat on my back.
Home now and just cooked bacon a la George Formby, scrambled egg, beans, tomatoes and 2 toast and a 4 apple / 2 pear fruit frothy from the juicer.

A round trip of 18 miles to the optician for my new specs!
The outward trip was a bit of a struggle against the wind, I took the hillier route rather than the more exposed coastal route. After a break from the bike of 18 days, this was not the easiest of re-introductions.
Did I mention the wind? Phew.

Wilmslow to Macc and back in the evening. Hit 38 before bottling it come down Alderley Edge. Always seems far faster than it is bumping down the poor quality road surface.

I've started to take a new route now they've resurfaced a stretch of road that was almost un-ridable, it's a harder route (pa just more training ), but keeps me from having to get involved with as much traffic. I'm loving it, just 1.7 miles of school run traffic now.

This is the first time I've felt that my ride may be worthy on this thread. I've been riding for about 7 weeks now, this morning I rode a route (link below) which was about 15 1/2 miles long with over 1300ft of climbing. Nearly all of that climbing was either into a cross or head wind, but the decent towards the end was a lot of fun!

Also, it's pretty cold up on them there moors this morning....

Also, can anyone explain to me why on a circular route which begins and ends in the same place, there's a difference of 60ft between the ascent and descent figures?
