Lovely ride out in the sunshine today. Got back in about an hour ago.
Just under 44 miles but with lots of hills, 3200 odd feet of uphill stuff.
But that bit up Curley Hill in Ilkely........my God I had forgotten just how unrelenting it was !
Pleasantly glowing now..........Time for a bacon sarnie I reckon.

WET and even WETTER,,,,2 hours in the mist, mud and rain on the Malverns.

Fell off twice, first on a root hidden in the leaves, slow motion sideways and pain free second fairly high speed grassy decent, front wheel [cross bike possibly a mistake today to be honest] sketched out and down I went narrowly avoiding a large dog's egg bruised knee, shoulder and elbow.

I had to take up the slack brake cable because of pad wear today, grind, grind, grind. Better check to see if there is any rim wall left, good job I ordered some new chains,,, the lube washed off after an hour.

23 miles around the North Warwickshire muddy lanes.

I saw some daffodils lying in the verge.
WTF? This time of year?

A close inspection revealed them to be artificial plastic ones that someone had dumped.

90k on mucky roads (French farmers are bombing up and down the lanes, from field to field on their tractors and leaving all manner of carp on the roads). Took the fixed because... I prefer it. Quite eventful; 2 punctures and a split tyre (not me) but I did loose my saddle pack... so had to retrace my steps (???) to find it. Fortunately, I did. Fortunate not so much for the tyre levers and spare tube but for the Surly spanner - would have pee-ed me right off to have lost that! Then had to do a mad 30 minute dash to catch everyone up. Pretty damp and drizzly for pretty much the whole ride but enjoyable none-the-less.

A pleasant 59 miler in the winter sunshine, I was trying out my new ATC5K, it seems a good unit, except I'm having problems downloading the video; Im trying it in my brother pc now as it got a card reader built in. The camera itself is packed away for my Christmas now and anyway the bateries are dud, I only got about 60minutes out of them.

52 miles this morning round Muirkirk Douglas and Lesmahagow in very pleasant winter sunshine. Roads pretty quiet - saw another 8 roadies. Something was rubbing on my bike though, think it might have been something inside the rear mudguard. I'll check it tomorrow morning as I'm at work right now. Back shifts (2 until 10.30) from today until Thursday

coed y brenin for me today very nice.
almost knackered myself keeping up with a tandem up the last climb on the mbr route (yes it was going at some rate of knots), 'cos i wanted to see whether it went down the beginning of the end - which it did! So I gave it a headstart while i was waiting for some others...
not sure i'd have attempted that - would have thought there's some twisty bits that it's a bit too long for! ... but still..

There were two yesterday, the first was just 3.5 miles but against a strong headwind getting me home around 00.30. The second in the late morning in beautiful autumn weather just round a local 11 mile circuit at a relaxed pace.

the usual commute, on summer bike while winter bike awaits a new rear tyre, but as i've had the weekend off the bike it was quite a fast one.

Took Friday off and tanked around the peak district (MTB) with my other half and a mate. Got soaked, and also managed to bugger my ankle, which is now black and swollen, but I can walk on it. Then loads of people arrived at the Ladybower Inn in Bamford to celebrate his birthday for the weekend. So on Saturday I took some novices and not so novices around the Derwent Valley for an easy ride.
