50 miles to Derby from Birmingham to attend the CC gathering and meet our glorious leader. Had a go on some of Hilldodger's contraptions and also did a 500m roller race - think I got the fastest time with 20.26. Didn't check the gear (perhaps Shaun can check tomorrow?).

I wisely decided not to cycle back and took the train instead. I'd still be riding now and getting very soaked!! A good decision as I'm currently sitting watching the Tour.

85 miles today. 30 miles to Selby then did the Solar system ride to York. Pottered round York, then had done 69 by the time I got to sister in law's house for tea. 16 hilly miles home.

Good ride all in.

That bit of the transpennine from Riccal to the car park on the road from stillingfleet to the A19 actually safe for road tyres?

Anyways I've done a nice 70 miles today, I went to the come and try it event, first 15 miles there at 20-21mph, then the 4.7 miles of the TT @ 23.6mph then a steady ride to easingwold at around 17 and one guy told me to stick in one gear so I did and got intoa nice cadence and was sitting there at 20+ even into the wind, then I went to Haxby Cycles to fix my front mech and check my winter bike, then I cycled home which is about 17 miles at about 21mph, keep seeing improvements.

And the Met Office was wrong again!, said it was going to be cold at around 18 degrees and wet, well it was boiling and dry!

I'm thinking about doing the Sunday run tomorrow if my legs are OK but that'll likely be around 100-120 miles.

65 mile club ride to Tenbury Wells from Malvern, very pleasant lanes and lots of hills.

Felt terrible when I left home due to a sinus thing that includes dizziness but the first hill sorted it out I think as I just got stronger as the day went on and was charging up the hills and to the 30 signs leaving my mates in the dust:biggrin: ....

One of the guys was really struggling so the average was only 15 mph but as I say it was hilly.

105 miles on the Southern Upland Sportive. Probably one of the hardest days I've ever had on the bike. Just over 7 hours.
Now supping a well deserved beer and looking forward to a big curry for my dinner:smile::smile:

My first metric century today :tongue: and a bit more

Furthest i'd ridden was 52 miles some time ago...78 miles today.
15 miles or so, stopped for double egg on toast / tea at a transport cafe (it was an unplanned ride today...sod work for once in my life)...then a pint of shandy near Corby...then a couple of bananas and an isotonic drink about 15 miles from home.

Saw 14...yes 14  Red Kite...one group of about 10 whirring round above a farmer ploughing a field (getting into Rockingham country...there's a Red Kite breeding programme going on somewhere near. It's obviously doing well). Bugger, they come close...not phased by humans at all.
Goldfinch, greenfinch, kestrel, possibly a buzzard..loads of birds.

Caught in two squally showers, took refuge for one...got caught in another, but whats a little rain
Moderately blowy at times, but for once, it didnt bother me...just find a pace that works and stick with it.

Slightly crampy calves, necks a bit stiff, backs a bit sore and my inner elbow was bothering me a bit, but it seems ok now.

Best ride ever  My legs feel good even now

Just a hilly hours training today. Nice bit of cloud cover and a breeze. Like most camera photos, it flattens the ground, but you can get the general idea..

Did the cycle track with scoosh, was very good. Scoosh of course, cycled from Edinburgh so he did alot more miles than me :bravo: Excellent ride though today, I really enjoyed it and it was the first time I ever had company when out on my bike.:cycle:

22 miles for me ;)

I had a good run with the club, I've no idea how fast it was though, I think it'd be around 46miles. I was pretty lucky with the weather it was raining just before I left work but it stopped before I left and although it didn't look promising the skies cleared within 20mins and it turned out to be a fine night.

Hopefully that my good deeds coefficient filled for a while. Got a call from my mum her telly box was needing fixed (her knee is broken too :-( ) So I dodged the rain and headed over there into a swift head wind averaging 16.2mph and fixed it. Of course the wind was behind me on the way back and I managed to average 18.6mph on the winter/ soon to be retired bike.
