A short 32 miler with a generous brake half way this evening. It was my first ride on the Bianchi for a few weeks and found my self trying to push the brake lever over alla Shimano 105

Nice and smooth today, hitting green lights all the time, breezing past the cars stuck in traffic around Greenwich. One exception: a complete tw*t in a blue car - didn't recognize the brand, as he sped past me, almost brushing my hand, on Woolwich Road as if someone told him that if you go fast, you get all the girls. Someone tricked you, mate - all you could get is a speeding ticket.

Dont Volvo's indicators work or something?

As we all know, the Highway Code clearly states that drivers must indicate to signal their intentions to other road users. However, Volvo drivers are officially exempt from this rule as is clearly demonstrated every time I hit the road. I guess it's something to do with peanuts not being able to distinguish between an indicator and a stick of celery.

Had a mini clubman cooper s undertake another car whilst over taking me. he was extreamly close, he then continued to undertake over the speed limit and nearly hit a pedestrian who was crossing a zebra. TOSSER!

It is said that there are only three seasons in Thailand - hot, hotter & wet! We are now just between 'hotter' & 'wet' so I try to limit my cycling so that I am home before 11am. I have a nice 47km circuit with some nice coffee shops on it. Most of the route goes against rush hour traffic but I sometimes hit heavy traffic on SeriThai Road. SeriThat is a nice flattish road with 4 lanes in both directions and a wide, raised central median. When SeriThai crosses National Highway 9, the four lanes become seven. I was approaching Highway 9, cycling in the second left lane at about 30kph when I heard an horrendous bang just behind me, a taxi cut across my bow and screeched to a halt; a maroon coloured Toyota front bumper bounced on its merry way in lane three, shards of clear, oramge and red perspex/glass filled the air. I was now level with the back of the taxi, the now bumperless Toyota was heading towards the taxi and I managed to squeeze between them.

My dad indicates as long as no idiot is behind him. He drives a Volvo V70.

42 miles today on the road bike, lovely day out into Durham then back through Sunderland finished off with a nice run along the coast. Didnt push it and still managed 17.5 mph average. Must be getting fitter, and a tad lighter I hope.

16 miles so far today, went to Barlow Common, really nice ride around the nature reserve, bit hard on me tyres though , was supposed to be helping set up some PC's there but it never happened so just stayed for 5 mins, really warm today!

**edit*

Well tonight I went out too, lovely sunset, abit of a breeze at first but then the wind dropped, got abit chilly in the end could feel it on my legs, did a few different loops, I'd have done better doing one larger loop but I did not know if I'd be back before dark.

Did a good 28.68 miles in 1 hour 22:36 which translates to a respectable 20.8mph average, another PB, I aim to be able to do 21 avg but with abit of wind eventually, I just kept an eye on the HRM, my legs got tired out at a lower heart rate today so I think it's time for a day off the bike as sunday should be 130ish miles hopefully.

A nice 35 miler from home to sunderland, then along the coast path to south shields (made the mistake of buying some chips and felt bloated for the remainder) crossed over to north shields on the ferry then up to whitley bay and back through to newcastle and then back home.

I still feel like I'm six months pregnant, but when the wind breaks that'll cure it

Brisk 25 mile on the road bike. Fair few roadies about; saw about 4 or 5 different sets of colours all waved, some spoke. It would have been very different if I had been on my Tricross that bike makes me to invisible to the road racing community in this county.

Why do some club roadies have this elitist attitude?
