Why not make a better route that is more varied and just better?

I've tried to make better routes, but I find that area to be best.

A day off or sought of, did a pottle up to Bushy Park, the ride up there was great bimbling along at 20mph+, did a lap of Bushy Park and my god the wind was strong going into it thankfully I had put some bar ends on my hybrid, speed down to 10mph in places coming home. Then gets a call from work, can I do the evening shift as someone had called in sick so goes to work around 5pm with the wind behind me and thinks I got to home against this  , 9:30pm arrives and I go home as guess what no WIND .

Good 14-15 mile club ride. Weather threatened to be really shitty, with high winds and rain, so we set out to do a more modest route then normal. That soon changed when we realised the weather wasn't really that bad. The trails on the moor top are mostly sandy, I can't believe how much better I'm riding since giving up the fags (and the back is better too!) Also got a chance to try out a new lightset (Blackburn twinset and a Light and Motion helmet lamp) which appear to be almost as bright as the tesco torches.........

I went for a blood test today soa round 6 miles total, on the way there 31mph easy in the tailwind, but on the way back.... 12-13mph, I don't think the back pack and jeans helped, I could hardly keep the bike straight.

Not trying to start an argument just curious, is around 20-30miles all you are capable of? Or are you like trying to get in that distance every day? Because I can't help but think maybe doing a decent loop, maybe not as hilly, well it will be if you have it around 50-60 miles.

Well I'm aiming to do 20miles each morning. I can do more, and I'll do more on weekends.

Managed my first 100km ride in 3hr 50min but boy those headwinds were pretty strong (could shave a good 20 mins off that I reckon).
Highlights included getting uptp 27+mph on the last mile and the sense of achievement; lowlight losing £20 note out of my back pocket as I went to get my phone out to take a picture - so if anyone goes down to the Marina at Wallasea Island keep your eyes peeled
So next target is 75 miles but doubt I'll have the time for that this year.

Does anyone know how to prolong the battery life on an iPhone as my gps Tracker ran the battery flat 14 miles from home.

27 miles this morning from Devizes to Woodborough garden centre ( lovely cappuccino) and back. Weather was very blustery with rain threatening. but overall most enjoyable.
