65 miles from Pocklington to Stamford Bridge and back then onto Howden, back to Stamford Bridge and back to Pocklington.

Saw a group of four stoats run out in front of me and then they beat a hasty retreat into the grass verge. I was also chased by a dog and I managed to hit 30mph on the level - perhaps not Mark Cavendish's standards of sprinting but a personal best for me.

warning - small/medium mammalian quadrupeds are very dangerous... I have the X-rays to prove it.

Spent the weekend in Thornbury just above Bristol, and rode back to Birmingham this afternoon...A38 the whole way until Bromsgrove when I took the infamous drag up through Lickey followed by a 47mph descent of Rose Hill. It was 121km which I did in 3:56 and 792m of climbing. Nice day for it too!

20miles in fairly wet weather, pretty hectic traffic at the start.

The rake (avg 1 in 7, max 1 in 4) was going good, then when I hit the steep bit my legs were screaming, it was the most pain I've endured, but I managed to get up it without stopping, fairly proud of that.

Overall a nice ride, my top is a bit "splattered".

Just a 15 mile jaunt along the river.
I'm very susceptable (sp) to the cold..hate it, so always end up slightly overdressed. Probably averaged 15 to 16 mph...but sweated like a pig ;)

Nice one, its pure pain that hill. Have you entered the LRC Hill Climb there on the 11th? If so i'll see you there. Giving it a go again tonight, hopefully without stopping:blush: I must remember to save some in the tank for that final pushxx(.

Good morning everybody. I had a brilliant ride to work today. For months I've been using my heavy, old steel hack, which I love but today I got my good road bike out and WOW it felt really fast. ZOOOOOOM! I did about 18 miles this morning and loved it. Can't wait for the home run, I'm going to do a nice detour - maybe stick an extra 30 miles in my legs. My whole working day is going to be consumed by planning my route.

Went for a 100 miler to Tadcaster and back, and hopefully do it under 6 hours.

Turned out to be a miserable ride, too many way points in the Garmin Edge, which is fatal on long rides slowed it right down so missed many junctions and had to slow down to turn back, kept loosing the satellite signal which also did not help, every set of traffic lights stopped me, cars sitting in cycle lanes blocking them off, grass cutter pulls out in front of me, tractor u turns in front of me, the lists endless.

Going through Selby I found its full of lemmings who walk out in front of you and stop you in your tracks. At one point I just sat on my bike as pedestrians streamed across the road in front of me, a young lady with a pram who waited on the road side shook her head in disbelief as she looked at me and all the mindless muppetts. Eventually I set off, nicely clipped in, got a yard or two for a man to step out in front of me, nearly had a clipless moment and he then thanks me for stopping! It would not have bothered me if they were on proper crossings but they were not.

Anyway after loosing so much time when I finally got to Tadcaster, the plot seemed lost but from York, with 30 miles to go, plus one big hill and the "wolds" to cross, they would decide the issue and only 1 hour 30 mins left to get home I managed to keep up a good speed, back wind, to achieve my "100" in 6 hours with 2 minutes to spare, but its a what if situation, what could I have really done it in without so many holdups.
