After a traumatic week taking my 89 yr old Mum to hospital etc, I just went a few miles to a farm not too far away to collect potatoes and wonderful carrots which taste so superior to shop bought ones. They're the first ones after a spell without during the Summer. 3lbs for 50p. What a bargain. That was enough for me today with all the hassle of the last few days.

Had a good commute today. Weather good, traffic light, chain did muck me around a bit on the return home. Probabily needs some oil.

Blackburn to Whalley then Chipping then round the top and down through the Trough of Bowland and back via Whitewell. 55 miles at av. 15.3 mph, lots of hills, I reckon about 3000 ft of climbing. Tired now and just had a hot bath.

70 miles in North Wales yesterday and another 37 this morning. I'm really enjoying my cycling lately, I think it's down to putting some effort into getting the miles in this year, my fitness has improved and I find that now I hunt out hills whereas before I used to try to plan my routes to avoid them.
What fantastic weather we're having, too, I think we're very lucky to see it so dry this time of year. Still lots of obviously summer/best bikes on view outside the Eureka cafe today and yesterday.

only managed 23 miles today. Had a pass out for a 4hr ride too

From Shipley up Hollins Hill dropping down into Ilkey and up over Cow and Calf.

I suffer from sciatica and today my calves felt really tingly most of the way round and by the time i got to the top of Cow and Calf i could barely feel my legs, and my hip was cramping up. Made a detour home. Arrived home in lots of pain, which was made worse when my lad (only 3) said "how was your ride daddy?". I lied and said really good!!!

(Another) physio appointment needed it seems.

Damn shame as lovely weather for a good long ride.

Yesterday: 100 Miles. 50miles with the Bromley Cyclists on a circular route from Charing nr Ashford in deepest darkest Kent. Then a further 25 miles from Charing to Tonbridge with Auntie Helen, then on my own from Tonbridge to home. My 8th 100 Miler of the year, so very chuffed with myself.
Today: 16 miles on Helen's Hubby's Trice to the bike shop and back to pick up some bits and pieces. Loverly weather today.

Struggling for motivation again :bravo: Just under 20 miles, no great speed and my legs felt heavy even then
Still, nice ride, a bit blowy, then home for Sunday lunch :bravo:

Rode from Portland to West Bay, and had tire blow out on the way back. Pushed the bike for 3 miles, still 8 miles from home. Stopped at a pub and called a taxi. 5 minutes later, The owner of Mud, Sweat and Gears - the bike shop I bought my bike from - pulled up in his van and gave me a lift home.

My local bike shop is officially psychic. :bravo: How's that for customer service :bravo:

14k round trip to the allotment, carrying the 3 smallest pumpkins on the way home, only ~ 11 kg in total, but the panniers were full :bravo:.
Now we are waiting for the tatties, vegetables & joint of finest Scottish beef to finish roasting :bravo::hungry:
