Just found out too... hope it heals fast J.

You can go off some folk rather quickly you know ;-)Mallorca day 2 - 130km of sunshine, blue skies and smooth roads.
From the hotel in Playa de Muro down to Sencelles then on to do the climb of the Puig de Randa. Lunch there then back to the hotel via Montuiri. Slightly downhill with a tailwind nearly all the way home meant we were averaging nearly 30mph in the bunch with a maximum recorded of 41.9mph
Anyway here's some photos of the day.

Another ride planned for tomorrow so hopefully the weather will stay fine![]()
. I also knew we had a long day planned given I had planned it and there was a chance we would be coming back quite late into the afternoon/early evening and spring kit might just not be warm enough (it would not have been!)
.
not sure what happened there, but thankfully I had a real partner to cycle with.) and the first 2 hours sailed by literally. I'm not a fast cyclist so for the first 2 hours of today for me to have averaged 16mph including a long climb meant I must have been having a really good morning - wonder what was actually in that teriyaki sauce last night from wagamama's? At times we out did the tailwind and I got the odd comment/complaint about a headwind from my OH. I threatened to slow down back to my normal pace, which quickly shut him up!
) we headed off to continue following National Cycle Route 7... only the bridge is out at the moment and the diversion is pedestrians only... we rode on and pretended to be pedestrians right the way up to the dam.. at which point life became more interesting and weightlifting became the order of the day....
... At a layby I stopped - thinking I would say something, but instead he announced he needed another call of nature and handed my his bike to hold... I think this was when I realised just how tired I was: holding his bike I was using one hand to drink from my water bottle and needed to scratch my nose... the rest was more like a scene from a comedy sketch. I let go of his bike to scratch my nose whilst continuing to drink and for some reason I expected the bike to remain upright
. It didn't, just as an oncoming car arrived on the scene. All I could do was laugh... this would have worked on the touring bikes because the panniers would have held the bikes up against my bike and, well it doesn't work with road bikes
... and I still have that really big climb ahead of me...
so yes... I'm a slow climber, but I did it all without stopping unlike my OH!
Oh and we both got to see a weasel!
Back to the holiday home was also a long drag into a nasty headwind, an the weather 'broke'
less than a couple of miles from base.Ah the Burway, I've only cycled it once, and that was down thankfully. What a great road. In fact *rummage rummage* I recorded it and put it on youtube, fast forward to 2 mins 30 secs for the beginning of the descent, and hold onto you hats.

Apols for the lame dialogue I was too busy enjoying myself.
70 miles in lovely sunshine around South Glos (with a bit of Wiltshire for good measure). nasty headwind for the last 10 miles+ which hurt my average but a great day to be out on the bike nonetheless

And heal up fast Justiffa, your injury made me go weak at the knees.
This is one of my favourite threads but looks like i wont be able to contribute any time soon bcos i busted my achilles tendon completely and am now under long rehab. They're saying minimum recovery in 2 months, full recovery in 4-6 months.

43 mile club ride in the sun, lovely day short sleeve top and bibshorts, nice easy ride out to St Albans for a bit of breakfast, we had to divide the ride into 2 groups as there were so many of us, i went of with the so called faster ride and my other half went with the so called slower ride, they arrived at the stop less than 2 minutes behind us, after breakfast the ride split we took the option to come home as we were supposed to be seeing one of my daughters, the other half of the riders went on to do a few more miles, we got back towards home and i thought i deserved a pint, so of to the pub.
