Here for rides.
46km of sun drenched fun with two mates and we just spent the whole time racing each other up the hills. Not bad for three lads old enough to know better.

Didn't have much time today so just went for a short recce of the Woodland to check out some off road stuff. 8.8 miles of steady riding (OK, might have thrown in a couple of sneaky Strava KOM's)

A gentle ride around the lake, busy at this time of day

Into the Woodland area and an info board

That was for this, the smallest of the ponds in there

Then it was off to explore, hitting all the tracks through the trees and not just the main paths, the bike ended up looking as though it enjoyed itself

Thankfully, the mouthpiece of my water bottle stayed clean

And finally home, where I put the pressure washer to good use, wife wanted to use it on me but I decided a shower was a better idea and I ran

Here are my 2 trusty steeds who help me enjoy my time out on the roads/tracks

Been a quiet week on the bike for me, only done 56 miles but I managed to get some gardening and clearing done which has boosted my brownie points for future rides.

Pleased with yesterday's ride 84 miles at just over 16mph. Bike developed a creaky crank ( 2nd time this has happened in only a couple of months ) and chain kept coming off so taken it back to shop today.
A couple of pics.

Bit quiet round these parts not sure why!

My OH decided he wanted to get a +100km ride in today. I did one on Thursday so I knew that we would have to pace life carefully for this ride, so the plan was to skirt around Delamere Forest and head off to Wales... I got a whole 3km up the road before I had to stop - my asthma was playing up; it has not been appreciating the high pollen count recently with all the hawthorn in flower. Whilst we were waiting for it to settle a car driver came passed and wound her window down asking if we needing any help... It was really kind of her.

Once my asthma had settled we continued onwards and headed off to the start of the Chester Greenway where we stopped at the new café that has opened just a touch down the road. Luckily we arrived about 2 minutes before every other cyclist in the area did! I think a club run or two must have descended on the place. From there it was the Chester Greenway from end to end, and then the River Dee cycleway where we stopped to have lunch on a bench in the sunshine - boy was it hot when you were not moving!

Onwards and over the border yet again - we straddled the Welsh border repeatedly today and ventured onto new roads and new areas... One mountain biker though shamed all of us, when cycling along in front of me to turn right, he found a gap in the traffic and decided that cycling towards the oncoming traffic on the otherside of the road was the best approach to turning right - he basically cycled up the wrong side of the road forcing oncoming cars to go around him  . Madness.

Onwards and that nasty southerly headwind was making life really difficult for 20km or so and really taking it out of both of us. That next rest stop was really going to be needed! Tattenhall beckoned. I knew there were benches and a shop that drinks could be purchased at and we were needing to refuel and replenish liquid levels - a litre of juice each disappeared without being noticed! It has been wall to wall sunshine today and too warm! Sorry folks but an average of 25C is too warm for me and I have yet again caught the sun despite applying sunscreen repeatedly...

Today's picture ...

I can't currently remember is it is Beeston Castle, but its around that area...
Surprisingly we were home by 4pm! But I need the rest. It is my 2nd +100km ride since Thursday and I have a 70km round commute tomorrow as well!

http://www.strava.com/activities/142654134 Strava and my Garmin Edge 500 only show 100.4km, but my OH's Garmin and trip meter both say 102.6km and exporting my results and using something like bike hike also says 102.6km, so not sure what is going on there!

Great weather today so went for a 41 mile ride along the North Wales coast, starting from Colwyn Bay up to Prestatyn and then back through Dyserth ( does any one know what the gradient is there as I was only going up it at 3mph). I know it is short but bloody steep!! Then through Rhuddlan, Rhyl and back to Colwyn Bay. My average speed was 13.7 mph so happy with that. Met loads of cyclists from all ages and different bikes. Funny how the good weather brings people out. I think my Allez needs a good service as when I cleaned it this afternoon, I noticed that the rear brake is sticking a little. Off to my lbs soon to get it seen to.

Fantastic weather today, very warm & sunny with a gentle breeze in places. I picked a route which was 3 small loops connected together with great views over Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire. A mixture of country lanes, fast B roads, hills & flat sections.
Being 3 small loops it meant we cycled down a hill we had cycled up, which was a bonus! A quick stop at a garage to top up water bottles and down a can of coke after 25 miles or so then we didn't stop until 57 miles into the ride. Cake, Pasties & more cake were washed down with coffee & some other strange drink called tea? then it was a 10 mile or so flat blast back to Hemel Train station
A cracking ride with some great cycling buddies in glorious weather.
