was it just me or were the BH roads rather insane ? I know quelle surprise last day of summer hols for most lets all drive to the coast, and do so in a hurry with no patience, or ability to think more than a yard in front of them, but still it felt like there were alot of people on the road today who might not have made it home in one piece if they kept driving the way they were.

I wasnt feeling great anyway as Ive got a bit of chest infection, and there was quite a breezy wind to contend with, but after about the 4th near miss, like Im on a narrow single road I pull into a passing place (Id already had someone earlier on a similar road drive up the verge before I could get to the passing place to force their way through) to let this car through who had only been behind maybe 20secs and it was the first safe place for me, and they absolutely floored it, but actually still managed to steer towards me, so when I shoulder checked as I stopped to see if there was another car following all I see is a car heading towards me, basically to punish pass me Im guessing, and then veers away.

so I decided Id had enough of that and rode home specifically chosing a much more traffic free route.

My ride yesterday was to meet a friend for lunch in Ilminster. It was a pleasant day, with just a hint of showers.

I took the ebike for a change and enjoyed weaving my way out of Taunton, through the park where the remains of a Howard Jones concert was being cleared up. That had me singing "No one ever is to blame" for the rest of the day.

I passed a group of sweaty riders doing their best up a hill, and the traditional greetings of "cheat" came my way. The weather and scenery were too good to engage with the poor dears.

I arrived in Ilminster early and had a stroll into the town.

Caught up with friend, lunch eaten and I returned, heading back through Curry Mallett and North Curry, thinking about what we could have for tea. For some reason I decided on Indian food.

All very pleasant.
