Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Yes, the cable car is an over-rated touristy thing but a fun one-off splurge if its a sunny fay
It is fun. but the problem with it is that it goes from the less interesting end of Greenwich to the not interesting in any way at all Silvertown.

HM Govt decided to use my Fine City as a warning in a video, to Albanian migrants, of what horrors await them if they take a small boat.
A struggling football team, cat-ladies feeding pidgeons, the demolition of the iconic and much-loved Anglia Square brutalist landmark.

Seems a bit unfair to pick on us as the Worst of Britain. If I was an Albanian tourist, I would look at the marvelous Threatre Royal, the busy Forum library, the pretty Chapelfield Gardens, the Norman Cathedral and the NOS Castle and think , this would be a nice place to live.

The Chantry Chapel of St Mary the Virgin; 14th century bridge chapel (4 left in the country)

The Hepworth; a concrete box of an art gallery, on the banks of the River Calder

Heath village; a 'conservation village', where almost every building, barring the bus-stop, has a listed status

'Stanley Ferry' Aquaduct; grade 1 listed, 'bow-string' & seen as a model for Sydney Harbour Bridge & the Tyne Bridge (I pass this every working day)

Sandal Castle; oft stated to be the inspiration for the nursery rhyme The Grand Old Duke Of York, also the scene of a 'War Of The Roses' battle

Nostell Priory; close to the boyhood home of John Harrison, who perfected the marine chronometer, & one of his original clocks is on display, as are various Chippendale furniture items
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is pretty decent, you could just about claim that for Wakey

Harder than I thought it would be to narrow things down for Newcastle...

Discovery Museum - Great local history and free

The Laing Art Gallery - Trad and contemporary art

The Crown Posada - Second oldest pub in Toon and has retained its character, unlike the oldest (The George) which is soulless.

Jesmond Dene/Heaton Park - Lovely for a wander

Grainger Market - Old school and cool

The Tyne Bar - Especially when there's music on

Victoria Tunnels?

also watching pissed up hen do's fall over on the Quayside & Bigg Market is quite entertaining in its own way

There's that big statue of a naked man as you come in to 'land' on the south side. I suspect some tourists (probably US) may be at shocked at the size of his 'bits':okay:.

Yep, my daughter was one of the last tranches at Bretton Hall, before it was closed and amalgamated fully with Leeds Uni.
