took my old fixie bike out for a long club run today. when we came out of the café stop i discovered that 1/3 chainring bolts had disappeared, and that one of the other two was stripped.

fortunately, some of my club mates had some zip ties which we used to tie the chainring to the crank. i'm taking the bike to the lbs to re-tap and replace the bolts, but as the zip ties stood up to 40 miles of punishment (including some out of the saddle climbing), i reckon they would be a good permanent solution but for the fact that they spoil the look of a beautiful bike.

How the heck did that happen?
