Bit harsh... my daughter’s 5 and she cycles over 2km to school every morning.
She’s never mentioned anything about her knee’s either. Just sayin![]()
To add to @peterob has said. I am currently doing the Zwift Gran Fondo plan, in prep for the Tour of Cambridgeshire , doing week 2 now. So far, and seemingly for the next few weeks, it has been 2 short (50min) interval sessions, a 50 minute free ride in Zwift and a longer >1 1/2hr (going to 3h15m in wk7) endurance focussed interval session.Hi there. As TheBoxers mentioned above, we are running a league here based on the Tour de Watopia that is currently ongoing in Zwift (latest table posted above). Stage 2 is happening this week but there are also opportunities to do missed stages. If you fancy joining our league, just make sure you join ZwiftPower and join the CycleChat team on there (so we can pick up your times). If you are already a member of a different team, just let us know your ZwiftPower name and post your times on here.
Regarding training for your Yorkshire Dales sportive, any cycling is going to be good for you but you probably want to be doing longer steady pace rides to build for it. Interval training on the turbo can be good, and you may want to have a look at the available Fondo and Grand Fondo training plans on Zwift which are essentially a series of interval workouts but should have a greater focus on endurance. If you do do one of these plans but supplement it with a weekly race in Zwift and outdoors riding, you'll probably want to swap some of the interval sessions with these rides so that you don't overdo it.
Good luck!
Well since we last met @bobinski I am 2 stone lighter and now under 20stre 6. Who is losing weight? Do tell![]()
It's been a long time coming. Being made redundant has actually made the time for me to get to work on the luggage semi seriously. I don't have the discipline to do a full on weight loss diet, I like food too much, but an up tick in exercise levels has made the difference from a stable weight to a downward trending weight. I am working on portion size primarily, rather than cutting out foods, to shift a little more than I have previously. That's fantastic, well done!
Hey guys! Lovely community you have here and it's great to see such an active Zwift thread. Probably 75% of my riding time is done indoor in the man cave with a longer, easier (and steadily increasing) outdoor ride at the weekend. I'm working my way up to a Yorkshire Dales sportive in the summer just over 70 miles which would be my longest outdoor ride ever (and pretty much equal to my longest Zwift ride).
I like the Team CLS rides on Zwift (sort of a group ride where the leader sets the pace) but I'm looking for suggestions for ways that I should be using my Zwift time. Any exciting racing leagues going on? Any training plans worth the effort? Any other wisdom?
Welcome backHi folks - it’s me back again after a couple of years absense - I didn’t realise you had such an active Zwift community on the go. I’m still on the bkool trainer but plying my trade on zwift and IRL rides.
I like the sound of the Tour de Watopia league if you don’t mind joining???
Well since we last met @bobinski I am 2 stone lighter and now under 20st(it's the little victories that make the big ones better). It's not really showing, to me, but almost any downward trend with that figure, when not linked to illness, is good.
