We have muntjac in our local park. One of our friend's dogs got badly cut chasing one a while ago. You don't see them often though.

These deer are very common around by us, but we do see in the fields the big deer, antlers and all.

I came out of house this morning and mum and fawn Muntjac were sleeping under the bushes.

They both shot off to the other end of the garden where we have some large trees and lots of undergrowth where they usually hang out.

By having a pond we attract a fair bit of wildlife. We once had a badger and hoped it would setup home in the banking we have, but it never

I got a bit caught up in the whole Christmas thing earlier, but numerous mince pies and copious measures of whisky later here is the CC December league table.

Well done (again) to @IrishAl, who demonstrates that he's the main man for the GC. Kudos to @Whorty too, who sits top of the C's this month and appears to be regaining the form that took him to B cat earlier in the year :okay:.

With the ToW 2020 starting 12th Jan, I imagine we will be using that for most of our Jan rides, but we should still have a Tue/Thur meetup race after new year. Maybe a handicap TT?

After watching a video describing the accelerated physical decline once you hit your fifties, Im happy to stay as I am:laugh:
I'm 50 in a few months, but strangely in my head I still think I'm in my late 20's  I'm sure if I can lose some more weight and get down to a sensible amount (maybe late 60's) and hold the same power then I'll be B cat. Be nice if I could gain a few watts too, but losing the weight is still aim number 1 :okay:

Just need to keep myself mentally well too ... another crisis with wife today put paid to my cycling :banghead: Need the powers that be to sort out what's going wrong so we can have a few weeks of peace, but just not happening at the moment.

Thanks once again for managing to keep tabs with all of the times @peterob. Winning from Berty by a mere 1min22s in an overall time of almost 6 hours shows how close it was - that’s less than 0.4% [or 1 watt].

An early January handicap TT would be good or we could try the handicap race we threatened in December. Here are the groupings from November’s league ...if there is interest I can put up the poll again to see if we can get a date that suits most.

I like the idea of a handicap, TT or otherwise.
I start a 3 week training block in a few days after 3 weeks off the bike so late in January please 😁

Cycling outside at this time of year is badly overrated... I’ve a sore knee and I’m scared to remove my shoes in case something falls off 🥶 brrrr.... 9 degrees my a*rse!

I’m retreating to the turbo for a few days. If anyone fancies racing this week let me know and I’ll join up. Also I’m up for a handicap race whenever it suits everyone else.

Did my first ever Crit (virtual) race. I knew it was going to be hard but my lungs just couldn't cope with the burning on the first lap or so. I had to back off to come out of the 'Red'. Eventually I began to feel ok and held position in a pack. I had gone from 10th to 48th recovering. I stayed in a group of 2 or 3 which grew to 8. Last lap the group leaders tried to break the rest of us with a increase in pace up the cobbled climb, lots of power ups being used. I saved my aero helmet for the upcoming sprint. I was at the back of the my pack with 500 yds to go, I hit aero at 350 yds and dropped a few gears, expecting to slowly reel in those in front. Surprisingly I hit the lead with 150 yds to go, backed off then went again. No one came by for a minor victory. Zwift had me 36th, Zwift power promoted me to 18th.

I've completed my personal challenge of riding 14 days back to back over Xmas.

Rest now till 2020:laugh:

then

Lots of repeat anerobic max efforts to cope with theses starts:heat:
