Ooh. Too bad, the sun is supposed to come out this afternoon and I hope to do a real world ride. But hey, thanks for the invite. are you doing it?
Edit: just saw your real world race! Wow. Impressive. Congratulations.Over 23 mph for 40 miles.
Me climbing a mountain, are you kidding me!!?
Yes, the sportive I signed up for, was upgraded to a category 3 race. That also meant we had to start together with those riding the longer distance (109 km). About 300 riders in the pen, and me at the back as I only got to the pen area 2 minutes before the start.

The longer distance race was won by Michael Carbel, who finished his Pro career only last year (at the age of 25) when the NTT Pro Cycling team almost folded - and he didn’t get a new contract with them or any other team… He finished the race at around 42-43 kph average.
The weather was perfect (for me) at around 16-17 degrees, almost no wind and no sun. My average was 37.1 kph, which is also the fastest average speed for me ever in a real world race/sportive, despite being dropped and riding 15 km solo.
The guy at the red arrow is me “running” back to my bike after picking up my sunglasses from HID. As seen in the video, I didn’t make it before the front rolled off.

You see me rolling past the camera at 0:50 in the red/white jersey and the green Cannondale bike.
