Say it's carp, colours wrong, text too big / small.

I'm not wedded to it as I only wasted 4 minutes on it 😃
I like the design Paul. Don't mind either colour. Would prefer the 'pro' fit I think, so long as I can breath in for a 100km ride

That was 4 mins of your time well spent ^_^

Edit: although I feel I will end up like Dave from the Fast Show as I'm relaxed about whatever is chosen .... so, "we have Splitters as the team name ...."

Did a ramp test this morning. It’s amazing how quickly it goes from ‘okay’ to ‘not-at-all-okay’…. There’s a massive psychological element to doing the test - it would be interesting to do one without seeing the display (I often do workouts with my eyes closed, counting pedal revs in my head).

I got 318W, a 6% improvement over my last estimated FTP, but I doubt that that’s my true hour power…. It’s certainly going to make workouts taxing!

Without re-opening a much, much debated topic - your FTP is not necessarily what you can hold for an hour. It is a threshold - and then there is another metric called Time to Exhaustion, which tracks how long you can hold it. This is usually less than an hour.

Sits back and waits for corrections

Yep, of course endurance at threshold varies from person to person; and for any person, it’s a trainable ability. I think my physiology lends itself to shorter, less sustained efforts. I’d be surprised if I could hold even 300W for an hour! A few months ago I tried 20 minutes at 318W and failed miserably…

Given your success and progress this last few years Martin (I remember when we used to race together ... those days are long gone ) I don't think anyone can argue with you :notworthy:

Same here ... I see the FTP number as something that I use for the workouts to set the range ... certainly couldn't hold mine for an hour. And i have tried, like you, and failed miserably :B)

I am in complete agreement with you Martin. An issue and miss understanding exacerbated by the 40 minute average races on Zwift.

Given the amount of riding you do and your previous cycling history you probably have an aerobic base / benefit, compared to many zwifters, once you get past the 40 minute mark. If so that means you can probably keep going. at your ftp or close to it for longer than most at their “ftp” figure. Give it a go😁

I did and FTP test ages ago and it had me just over 300W. I then did a race up the Alpe and completed the climb just a few seconds over the hour.
Watts were 287W so my true FTP is the latter

Andy, ftp on flat and using an incline is a whole different discussion , far too taxing for my little brain, all about slow twitch and fast twitch muscles, gravity and kinetic energy, grinding or spinning. Still those figures are pretty darned close. Those were the days eh? 😛

Re the jersey ... is it worth us giving the 'job' to 3 people who want to volunteer to come up with a design. A bit like the H&H's we did last year, leaving it to the captains and we all agree to their decision.

If we have 3 volunteers, and we all agree, then whatever they come up with is our new jersey (I assume this is how real world clubs work too).

But ... another question ... if we're calling ourselves Splitters now, should we change our name in the WTRL league too now to the same ... So Splitters #23, Splitters #68, Splitters #99 (or similar)?
