Grass shoots of fitness, I held 2.5W/kg for 20 mins today according to Zwift 'best of' index. Chance of going for cat D race soon.

I'm riding in a fasted state of 16 hours, so its pleasing that I'm not actually crumbling after higher intensities. (for me). I can muster 400W for a minute now. I think I'll pick one or two Zwift workouts to help boost sharp interval power and recovery. My daily glucose numbers are now consistently in the norm range morning and evening :hyper: I'll try a carb shot before a workout and monitor response.

See y'all on the start line soon ;)

Thanks for the help. Will stock up on some sweets during lunch break. I'm planning a relatively long session today - 'long' in my book. Will maybe attempt that without refuelling and see how it goes.

I have been known to consume vast amounts of Jelly Babies (softer than wine gums, so easier to chew when you're moving). However that fact applies whether I am cycling or sitting on the sofa, which probably explains my weight!
I can definitely relate to that! One of the reasons why I'm on a fitness/weight loss drive at the moment

TBF I don't think I'd do much better than that in a fasted state of 16 hours!

I appreciate you're watching the carbs and glucose levels though so well done for building back up to fitness - great stuff :okay:

You were crucial in that as DS as far as I remember it, @steverob - helping to identify who to chase and who not to (likely to be DQ'd etc) and giving a great awareness of upcoming features on the course. I'd never have finished as high in the rankings without your guidance on the day!

In the absence of @steverob assistance in future you could always join the throng of watt chasers buying an Atom 😛😘

I was on Wahoo power last night and surprised at how similar it felt and reported compared to my PM.

I did a calibration immediately before the race, and at the end of the race intervals.icu increased my FTP by 3W but I worked seriously hard for the first 20 mins last night and I am on the up so think it seemed pretty comparable to my power meter (which is left sided only - probably gets me lynched around here?)

No need for lynching, as long as you are only pedalling with one leg!:laugh::laugh:

Bob, Is it the case now

'You chose poorly'

With the Neo bike ^_^

😁

No. I will never compete at the pointy end of races so it doesn’t really matter. I love the bike. But if I was at the pointy end and beaten by peeps taking advantage of a few more watts or the additional inertia some platforms provide I might be a bit pi££Ed. If I took it seriously enough.
