8 B sandbaggers in the DBR race tonight (so far) .... that and the powerful Danish boys I'll be lucky to come mid table.
They wont be in the ZP results. Just mark a few names, so your not chasing them :okay:

^_^ I'd just counted that up myself - 93 entrants so far though, should be a good race. I think I'll be finishing near the back by the looks of it
Based on 20 minute power I'm joint 20th to 44th (@ 3.3 w/kg)

On climbing the KoM we go up twice fastest time I'm 20th

So I recon anything above 20th this evening is a positive. Not bad for a sandbagger

5th from the back would be an improvement over my last performance so would be happy with that ^_^

Just make sure you give it the beans out of the starting gate and try and settle in a group as high up as you can. Then try and limit your losses on the climb. Once you have done the climb try and re-group and recover. Hopefully the 2nd time up the KOM will be a bit slower and the guys around you of similar ability. Draft where possible.

You probably know all this so forgive me if you do but I just thought I should mention it as I'll be in a similar place to you and theses are my tactics! ^_^

Four times. We go up it four times
As @Joffey says, blast out the starting gate .... the first 2 minutes of a Zwift race can dictate your whole ride. Get dropped from the off and there is no getting back.

So blast out and try to find a pack that is at your level. You will go much, much faster in a group blob in Zwift.

As for the climbs .... ignore everyone else around you and go at your own pace UNTIL you get near the top and then look for wheels to ride with ... could be someone a few seconds behind you (so rest a bit and let them catch you) or a few seconds ahead (so dig a bit harder to ctach them and get a free ride down the other side and on the flatter sections.

Oh .. and try to enjoy it :laugh:xx(

Yes @Peter Salt the start is so crucial. It feels unsustainable because it is! Everything calms down after a little while then people generally just attack any incline. In the long run you save Wats if you can stay with a big group
