Spent the day sort out a few things for the turbo.

Mrs SydZ got knocked off on her way home from work a while back and the bike she was on at the time was written off having suffered damage. It’s relatively minor and the frame is still good enough for turbo use. So, I’ve remov my TT bike from the turbo and put the, now rebuilt, ex-commuter on it.

Frame was a bit small for me but a longer stem, angled upwards, has sorted that out.

I plan to get back into Zwift later this week as the thermometer has taken a dip.
Hope the accident didn't hurt Mrs SydZ and hasn't put her off cycling outdoors :hugs:

Scaphoid? I’m sure you know this, but make sure she’s healed well. Scaphoid fractures can have complications with blood supply to the bone, and can lead to avascular necrosis of the bone.

I was recovering from a scaphoid fracture this time 20 years ago (while trying to study for my university Finals, and teaching myself to write with my right hand). My left wrist still gets rather sore in cold weather. 🙁

Yeah I broke the same bone a couple of years ago. Lee basically pushed me off my bike descending a mountain in Italy but I try not to hold it against him (I might be slightly exaggerating his role but it’s always good to have someone to blame!)

I was warned against doing any physical work for what turned out to be 6 months after they put a titanium screw in my wrist, for fear of long term damage. Looking back now it was a really lovely time being able to walk my daughter to school every day and then working from home. But it was a bit of a concern at the time.

Scaphoid... I've broken that one.

Slightly drunk one night, fell over en route to the kebab van... :okay:

Unbelievable how such a small bone can cause so much discomfort.

I did it lads... Had too much time because of the injured knee and probably too much whiskey on Sunday. Pair that with access to the Internet... Voila! I bought a road bike. Picked it up today.

I bought a £120 Giant that's been in a flood. Sneak peak of the handlebars: Rusted Ultegra and fungus underneath the bar tape  What have I done?

I did mine drunk too! I was in a pizza shop on one of those punch bags that you get at the fair. It never hurt at the time but the following morning once the drink wore off it was agony! They didn't diagnose it for 2 weeks so only had to spend 2 weeks in a cast which was a bonus.

Got the cast off on week 5 and played a darts pro in an exhibition. He mullered me which was a shame and a tad embarrassing! I did get a 140 though

I hope you told him about your poorly wrist, and that was the only reason he beat you

Who was it? Rach used to love watching the darts, so I was forced to watch too for weeks on end ... anyone really famous?

Scott Waites. He was a nice bloke too. I think we played 701 and I got to about 300ish.

I've played a few over the years. The ones that come to mind are Kevin Painter (Russ Bray was shouting that night - both great guys), Martin Adams (Wolfie) - what a horrible man. He beat me from 701 and I was on 200 odd. Also played Eric Bristow! That was 501 and I beat him in 13 darts if memory serves me. I played really well that night and won a £50 meal voucher for the hotel it was at!

Eric was a lovely bloke and it was one of the best darting nights out I've had. I was gutted when he died.

Met loads of the top players over the years. You could say I was a but of a groupie when the PDC first kicked off properly. Got friendly with the security staff and got some great seats on the player tables. Sat watching games with John Lowe was one particular highlight, another was having a few beers with Ronnie Baxter in the City West Hotel in Dublin following his match at the same venue. Oh, met Ricky Hatton in the Winter Garden toilets once when he was watching Phil Taylor

I've even been to one of the closed door Pro-Tour events. That was good - they were all on the drink at 9am

It's been spoiled a bit now with the introduction of the massive venues so I don't go to live darts anymore.

Never spoken to RvB which is a shame.

Scotty too Hotty  I remember him.

Rach's favourite was Gary Anderson. She was really not a fan of the Welsh guy (Price?), and she hated Phil Taylor as thought he was a nob.
