Thanks everyone. Nice to see you there @CXRAndy - you’ve christened the barn now then?!

I thought we were going to settle in for a nice cruise at the start of that one, hence my little jibe to @Peter Salt reminding him that he needed to drop me tonight!

Did that offend you @berty bassett because I think you then attacked?! 🤣 I had a truck so was able to stick with it pretty comfortably, and once I saw that Peter had been gapped I did pull myself. It felt quite good to be rolling with the B’s at B numbers for a while, but I knew it couldn’t/wouldn’t last!

@Whorty - I knew I didn’t have any chance against you this evening, but I was so close to sticking with you over that little punchy climb out of the desert!! I decided not to take the risk of an all-in effort to stick with you and possibly end up back with Peter so I sat in behind Rich all the way to the volcano.

Sorry for that Rich, I didn’t pull at all and it probably irritated you. I just don’t have the raw power to pull on the flat, it was all I had to stay in behind you and you still left me for dead on the volcano. Very strong ride there bud 💪

Edit: Tonight’s race gave me my best 1 minute (364W) and 60 minute (201W) powers of the year which was a surprise. Legs felt heavy and unresponsive the entire time!

Good race guys, and well done again lee 👍 👍

I felt very weak on the flat, breathing heavily dead legs, so it was almost a relief just to get to the top of the climb the way I did. Im fact the first 15 odd km were pretty dull but it probably did me a big favour looking back now.

You looked very strong again ketty. Always tougher on your own isn’t? But I could see you were still knocking out the steady power.

How do you see your power stats against all the other rides you have done? Training peaks?

Cheers mate. If I can shift a kg I can start to make a better go of this coming season. Much better at spotting the splits etc and being ready to ensure I’m in the front group. Enjoyed it.

Podium very strong tonight :notworthy:

You know, I almost dropped back to you two as I was going well into the red to stay with the front 4. But once I committed I had to stay with them, get a lead, and hope I could hang on to the end.

Rich is a monster at keeping a good steady pace ... he'll be perfect for the TTT races .... I had a 70 second lead gong into the volcano and he slowly reeled me in and caught me with about a mile to go. I then did what I always do ... sat on his wheel and jumped him on the sprint (sorry Rich!)

When Peter was dropped I was like you, did a little dig on the front to make it stick as I didn't fancy racing him up the KoMs.

Good riding everybody ! One of them strange courses ain’t it , I knew there was no way I could lose anyone on my own
And honestly thought it would be 5 of us going round till the end
I was lucky to hold on up the kom to Paul n tommy then an even luckier moment where Paul fell behind a bit and we managed to pull away
Happily take the win this time but deep down I know if tommys limbs were all functioning he would have hammered me to the line as usual and me n Paul would have been battling each other
Mr ketty good riding mate ! Worryingly good 👍
