Thanks guys. I’m not sure if there’s cctv but hopefully it doesn’t come to that. You never know in this day and age do you…There was a pedestrian involved / injured so maybe I shouldn’t say too much here. It is quite tough when you’re in pain on the floor and you have someone berating you after they’ve just walked out right in front of you. But she was in pain too so I just hope she’s mending ok really.

Sorry I missed you this morning Ian! That looks roughly the time I’d be going through there too! You think the traffics bad at 6:30 you don’t want to see 9am.

Hope you're OK Tommy, and the lady.

I think all of us who have commuted in London have had an experience of a pedestrian walking out on us. Not much you can do apart from take evasive action. Gws

Avid followers of my Strava feed may be able to spot where I had ‘an off’ on my commute home last night.

I’m a bit battered and bruised this morning… taking the train rather than cycling for the first time all year including that day of the storm in January.

Spent some of the train journey so far looking at other peoples depressed faces…. Spent the rest of the time mulling over the correct excuse score. Settled on 4/10 👍
Hope you’re ok mate! I do like the consistency of your Strava feed, back to it soon no doubt :okay:

I'm sure you're aware Tommy, litigation is a real possibility.

Defend yourself well and make sure you counter sue!

Remember the cyclist who hit the pedestrian who walked out on him. He didn't countersue the at fault party within the required time frame. Lost his opportunity to cancel out her damages and litigation costs .

He was lucky, publicity (national press) and crowd funding came to his rescue to the sum of tens of thousands of pounds

And British Cycling membership surged in the following weeks as people decided to buy in for the insurance

I think I'm a no tonight chaps ... going downhill pretty fast. can't stop coughing and have a temperature. Only have one test left so not taking it just yet to confirm, but not looking good

Can't risk kicking off the asthma and covid so for once I'll be sensible

I think I have to go and get checked out later guys so I’m probably going to miss the race. I think I might be suffering a bit of mild concussion to be honest. And with everything else I think it’s better I get a proper assessment. It’s a shame for me because with the broken toe it’s been a bit challenging so I’m disappointed I won’t complete all the stages after that. But not the end of the world either!

Thanks again for all the good wishes it was much appreciated

Just catching up on this mate - never good to hear about cycling crashes. Sounds like the right decision to get yourself checked out. Take it easy and I'm sure you'll fully recover quickly. Blimey you've been battered around a bit recently! All the best

Have you tried riding with flat pedals and normal trainers before jumping into cleats? I just wonder if your 'natural' position might be a bit different from your cleated setup?
Cheers. I am constantly experimenting with cleat position - even bought a tool that allows me to measure the exact location. I can make the foot pain go away but then I develop knee issues. If I sort out the knee, the foot pain comes back. Carrying on with trial and error but getting closer to just saying 'feck it' and doing the bike fit.

This. Definitely.

My sister was the victim of an admittedly low-speed hit and run many years back but apart from feeling a little shaken and a bit of brusing, felt okay at the scene of the incident and told bystanders that they didn't need to call an ambulance and she'd be fine. A few hours later once at work she suddenly started feeling incredibly light-headed and noticed her leg had started to swell up and she had to get a taxi to the hospital regardless. Sometimes symptoms can take a surprisingly long time to show.

Hopefully in your case Tommy (as it was with my sis) it turns out to be nothing serious, but certainly take care of yourself.
