Cheers. I am constantly experimenting with cleat position - even bought a tool that allows me to measure the exact location. I can make the foot pain go away but then I develop knee issues. If I sort out the knee, the foot pain comes back. Carrying on with trial and error but getting closer to just saying 'feck it' and doing the bike fit.

Get well soon, missed a chance to get her number and invite to dinner ;)

Didn't know Covid is an STD ;)
Knee pain is likely to be saddle position / height depending on where it is.

I recently got pain at the back of the knee on a bike that I've had for 4 years and never tinkered with once set up. Its the summer bike so went back to it after a winter on the, well, winter bike.

They share the same geometry so the saddle height and distance from handle bars is the same, same shoes etc..

The only difference I found and not sure why I didn't spot it ever, is the stem is 10mm shorter than on the winter bike. That means the the saddle is 10mm further back as the saddle to bar distance is the same.

Anyway put on a 120mm stem, moved the saddle and hey presto knee pain all gone.

The new stem does have a slightly different angle at -10° rather than -6° but that seems ok so far, and I could work it out but -4° over 120mm is probably pretty negligible.

Well done bridgy and Ketty - and Rich your average power was basically the same as bridgys, impressive solo effort

I thought I was going to completely bonk early on but @BurningLegs spurred me into putting a decent effort in, then my third TT of the week as I was too friendly with gravity to follow downhill!

Seemed a fair bit of ebbing and flowing behind. I'll be happy not to see the radio tower again in a hurry

Bloody hell that was tough. So glad I had a little lead over John. He whittled it down to catch me at the start of the tower. I knew uf I could stay within 30 secs, I could catch him on the descent. I did, then set about trying to pull in Pete, but he held good power. I took the sprint title before the Bridge from Bridgy

Painful, but enjoyable. Ta Paul for organising:okay:

Well done Berty for a classy climb

Well done everyone.

I’d be fibbing if I said it was a pleasure to ride that climb with you @mjd1988 but I was very pleased not to be doing it alone. I suspect neither of us would have climbed it as quick solo. Thanks for the company  Well, until you dropped me on the 300% bit up to the radio :B)

I really didn’t enjoy the descent. I was on that lightweight Specialized - think it’s called Aethos? On the 6-7% sections I’d spin up to 60kph and get in the aero tuck then it would start to slow down in the aero tuck!! Pretty sure the trusty tron maintains 60kph on 6% and higher?!

When we got to the top of the radio tower and I saw you ease off I thought I’d catch you @mjd1988 but I think you put approx one minute into me on the descent, and I was pushing it pretty hard!!

That left me spent for the flat run in and I was worried that @Peter Salt might catch me but not quite, thankfully.

If it helps, I was on the tron and it loses enough speed to go out of super-tuck in a few places on that descent as well!

My aim was to beat you on the KoM as I knew that you would beat me on the descent. I got a PR on the descent by 32 seconds trying to chase you. What was frustrating was putting out slightly higher w/kg than you whilst watching you still pulling away. I went for a lightweight setup, probably would have been better with a more aero bike.

That was OK. I started out somewhat conservative, really dreading the foot pain, waiting for it to kick in. Some last minute adjustments made it better though and it wasn't too bad until I reached the bottom of that tower climb - had to get to the top with my sole feeling like it was on fire  The descent helped and I was able to make up some ground. All in all happy with the performance - not sure if the pain actually affected the power, probably not.

If it wasn't for @mjd1988 letting @BurningLegs catch up on the Epic maybe it would have been a closer finish ;) but likely the same result position-wise. Enjoyed the course, would do it again (sans the pain). Congrats @berty bassett for another victory, nice battle @bridgy and @Ketty :okay:

Really good race with @CXRAndy, kept up the pressure until the end :okay:

Will sort the feet out soon - I'm certain  In the meantime it might make me a better cyclist by increasing my pain tolerance ;)

Are we putting in the TT for Friday?

Yeah I think the supertuck works much less efficiently outside of races - although I'd hoped the physics would be of a race for club meetups. I was constantly having to spin back up to 58kph and above in order to stay in it as soon as the descent got less steep than 6 degrees.

Pity there was that gap on the radio tower, it's not really possible to change pace easily on it is it. I'll take @Peter Salt 's suggestion that I waited but I'm afraid I was just cooked at that point, I could very easily have been dropped by you earlier in the climb if you'd wanted!

I surprised myself a little holding you at 20 secs for most of the climb, knowing I would begin to tire. The tower was short enough and with a determined effort over the top and around the loop to pick up speed. I then employed full efforts into each mini bump to reel you in and then rest with gravity doing its work.

I think I weigh 30kg more than you so downhills are mine all mine-menacing arch criminal laugh :hello:
