Not going anywhere near me unfortunately, but the Women's Tour of Britain is having its final stage in Oxford, meaning the route might be do-able for me to intercept (depending on the direction it's going into the city from - full route hasn't been released yet).

Did do a CycleChat meetup a few years back that intercepted the Men's ToB on the outskirts of Oxford which was good fun. Some cycled all the way from London to see it, others (like me) met them en route in the Chilterns. After it passed by we all then decamped to a pub a few miles away - arrived there just as it started chucking it down, so had very little incentive to leave quickly!

Tour of Britain route released - anyone got it going near home? https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/tour-of-britain-2022-stage-details-revealed/

Final stage on the Isle of Wight looks good - we'll have to make sure we get our Strava KOMs in during the trip in May :okay:

Stage 4 is only a few miles from me (and @Ketty). I'd imagine I'll be riding out up the Moors to spectate from somewhere. The descent of Carlton Bank should be good. The roads are long, fast and narrow so might watch it from there.

Stage 6 Tewkesbury to Gloucester. My bro lives in Gloucester and we sometimes meet for a ride from Tewkesbury. Will probably watch this stage. It almost gets into Bristol so @Spartak may be interested :okay:

Yes it goes through Chipping Sodbury, which is quite close to me.
I actually ride for Sodbury Cycle Sport so I imagine we will be positioned somewhere along the High Street.... :okay:

Credit to Chain Reaction/Wiggle for their response to the clunking issue with my new wheelset. They acknowledged my claim within 24 hours, and passed it on internally to a team who resolved it 48 hours after that, with this text:

" Please arrange a replacement freehub to be shipped to the customer. Recommend that their local bike shop clean all the white grease out that sits on the drive draws (bits the pawls engage on to) when fitting the new freehub. This should solve the issue. "

Waiting for my mechanic to say what he will charge to do this and then going to ask CRC/Wiggle to reimburse me for that cost. Hopefully they will, but I'm not sure whether they're obliged to in this instance???

Either way, so far so good and couldn't have asked for more from CRC/Wiggle up until this point. This is one reason why I went with these wheels to be honest, I hoped and trusted that they'd be good in case of any issues and so far they've done as much as I could hope for. Just thought I'd post because people are pretty quick to slag off firms for poor service online but so far this has been excellent

It sounds like it’s a recurring problem they deal with doesn’t it. But also easily fixed which is good news mate.

Yeah, when I read that I felt like they'd probably identified a batch of hubs with this problem and they think I've got one fitted and the replacement might be affected too.

If I remove the existing freehub and clean it down (as suggested on here tbf) then it'd probably fix the current one. Now I'm hoping I will end up with a spare 😁

Good news. I think they are like Ribble and either reimburse you or pay your local bike shop. Much easier for an online retailer than taking things back.
