Well done everyone! That takes CCC top of the league and splitters are second in theirs - now we know exactly who we have to beat.

All set up for a great series for both teams going into the first points race with primes
Getting this out there now ..... but I am not happy with my Mom and her rubbish planning. I'm seeing her over the weekend and will be giving her a right boll*cking ......

It's my birthday Tuesday ..... you'd have thought 52 years ago she'd have planned my birth better, and not chosen the first points race of the season with lots of sprint primes up for grabs.

You can have a piece of cake/unit of alcohol for every point you win 👍

What better way to celebrate your 52nd Birthday than with a ZRL points race?! And what better birthday present than destroying everyone else in the sprints and contributing massively to a win for Team Splitters?! :okay:

CCC's first ever victory:

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAKcOwxm2uc

We beat the only team who left the pens before us by a mere three seconds, having been yo-yo-ing between 5 seconds up and 5 secs down to them all race - but have just found out they got DQ'd for having a rider go way over the limits, so we ended up winning comfortably over the next best placed team in the end. But thinking that they were still in the race did make us push all the way to the line.

Special shout-out to @Marino.g for signing up for this race at only 6pm tonight as we were a man short, despite having not raced for us for over a year, then managing to stay with the group until 2 1/2 km to go when we went for our final push.

Is it like the football were all unused substitutes get a medal 😁. As soon as I sign up as a reverse the team starts winning ,just the kick up the bum you all needed 😉

Glorious weekend ahead! Have any of you got any interesting outdoor rides planned?

Tomorrow I plan on driving over to Whitby and riding the Cinder Track to Scarbados for fish n chips then having a leisurely ride back. Hoping to get a lot of riding done over the next few days.

Saturday might be a gravel ride round Sutton Bank / Boltby Bank. Sunday will be a road ride if my mate has recovered from Covid then a rest day Monday in case I'm called upon for ZRL.

Sounds class :becool: are you still doing the training blog btw? Can never find the link for it.

I'm still testing positive for lat flows (day 8) so really hoping I'm negative tomorrow/saturday so can get out for a club ride.

Edit; just remembering we have different Covid isolation rules here, need two consecutive negatives after day 5 before can leave the house.

Still doing the blog, not doing the training  In brief - with the father in law passing and weekends spent travelling to and from Kent I was about 6 weeks with no proper training (and associated weight loss to get over the climbs) so thought it best change events. Now targeting the 162 mile York to Lincoln ride the week before. Training has not yet begun in earnest but hoping this weekend can kick it off.

Bad news with Covid - I had no idea you had it. Hope you are feeling ok? In England we don't have to isolate at all - bit crazy when you think about it but it is what it is I suppose.

The link is in my signature for the blog :okay: I have still been updating it every week - a few personal thoughts / grumbles re my progress etc there now but hoping this weeks will be worth a read with the rides I have planned.

Yeah we are still isolating. Doubt our rates are much lower though, not sure if people are doing it properly or not anymore. Definitely over the worst, was on zwift again last night, but struggling to shake it completely.

Good luck with the new goal, sounds sensible and hopefully you'll kickstart things this weekend. Unless you get to the chocolate first then all bets are off

Cheers mate. Fingers crossed to shake it off in time for a ride this weekend 👍

I'm off from this evening until 25th so hoping to get a bit of outdoor riding in.

Tomorrow it's super car race track day in Exeter - so that will be a bit of fun

But I need to get some miles in now as been slack the past couple of weeks. Hope the weather holds up.

If anyone interested there is a Chasing the Sun race at 18:15 this evening.

I'm signed up and plan to race it as I would in the league ... so attack each sprint for max points , but not worry as much about finish place as the primes are worth more.

Anyone fancy joining me?

It's the Italian league so usually quite competitive - might be a good test for the climbers too to see how it pans out.
