Next week forecast looks promising in here for a first outdoor ride in here but need to do car ride first to check out what kind of conditions roads are in here.

I should ditch the car and get a moon buggy if the roads are like ours ! think our council have squandered our money on spray paint giving the craters little halos
Most of a time sharp gravel what is spread all over icy roads is usually only problem what might cause punctures. Also shady places where is still ice and snow might bring surprises.

Glorious weekend ahead! Have any of you got any interesting outdoor rides planned?

Tomorrow I plan on driving over to Whitby and riding the Cinder Track to Scarbados for fish n chips then having a leisurely ride back. Hoping to get a lot of riding done over the next few days.

Saturday might be a gravel ride round Sutton Bank / Boltby Bank. Sunday will be a road ride if my mate has recovered from Covid then a rest day Monday in case I'm called upon for ZRL.
The ride and the reward. A bakery at the top of the hill. Great views on the way down.

Had a go at double Oh Crit events. I went with B in first race, I wasn't feeling it, dropped after the lead in. Hung with 4 back markers who missed the pack picking up pace after the first climb.

2nd event C cat, where it was a more competitive event. I held the front pack right up to 0.4 mile to go. Then final tiny climb legs cramped going for the sprint.

I think I will be doing more, enjoyed them, even with mediocre performance. :okay:

Maybe practice ride with B.Brevent pace partner will prepare you better to stay in Cat B group in a future.

Excellent.
I've been really enjoying the 3R 4.4 km LaGuardia SuperSprints. All cats ride together. I've been finding I can usually hold onto the fast A/B group for most of the 5.5-6 minute race, but the As and Bs leave me for dead in the final sprint (having used up everything I had just to hold on). A couple of times I have fallen off the back though, which usually costs me another 30s. I wish there were more of them - they're such good fun.

Obviously it's not very representative of the sort of races we do in ZRL, but it's a good workout and they say you get faster by riding faster.

The reverse is in full training mode . Just did my first itt .British cycling series in London 16.6 km ,managed to get under 30 mins ,29.46 to be exact . Held 199 watts (annoying short of 200) . Entered as a cat D as zwift power has me as that ( nearly c) finished 3rd out of 6 the front 2 put out lots more watts I thought I was pushing it entering as a D Cat !.
Any suggestions for races to try with a reasonable big field , now the league is on the entries seem very small ,want some draft

Have a look here...
https://zwifthacks.com/app/events/ and use the filters to narrow it down. Good for an overview.

Also on Zwift Power https://zwiftpower.com/events.php you can look under "Events" and on the right-hand side you can see how many people competed in the same event last week, which gives you an idea of event size.
