We've been to Finland and Iceland and each several times and never been lucky to see solar phenomenon. Such a pleasure to see it 😁

From my back garden - iPhone slow shutter speed. Have to say I was in awe! I’ve never seen it this far south though Im sure ive just been oblivious to it. I’ve been on a “Northern Lights” tour in Iceland 10 years ago but last night blew that viewing out of the water. A short Timelapse on YouTube HERE.

Northern lights are quite of common in Finland that's true but I have ever been outside when they have been possible to see, so I have missed them. Maybe it's been too cloudy as well.

locacl group on facefluff reckoned that to see it you needed to scan with a camera to pick it up, to me thats cheating

I look at eclipses through a welding mask. You can also use the inner from a floppy disc for that.
