I should just make 10 - slow morning waiting for the Nipper to get up and see his Easter eggs

Just watched Andy ride. Race finishes smack on 43 km point, at the normal finish place on the front. Not sure how aero the shopping trolly bikes will be![]()
Best intentions of having a pootle. 650 started and I was happy trundling along in about 150th. As I began to climb and the watts climbed, I felt comfortable so began to hold them, then I thought, I'll treat it as a 20 min interval to see if I can hold FTP whilst climbing. Soon my position at the peak was 80th, then the mist came down and I joined a number of riders pushing on. Through most of the road to ruins section we collected the stragglers. I got dropped just before the bridge and was left to fend off a number of riders behind. I could tell with a few miles to go that they were tired as I could pull away on any slight incline. I waited for the sprint and took 70th over the line.
Nearly had your KoM time Bob!
What, the 24.17 time?!? You can leave that alone mate![]()
Well done @CXRAndy . We had about 840 starters at 10 o'clock. Like you I was going to pootle but as the bell went i raced out the pen thinking I'll get up front, have the blob drag me along to the hill, then get quickly dropped. I hit the base of the hill in position 274, and crested it 280 so I was well chuffed. On the down I pulled back to 261. I was struggling in no man's land in the jungle so slowed down so the group behind could catch up and I could get a free ride. Ended up about 10 of us, catching and dropping others, until close to the end. All got a bit messy on the final km as it wasn't a closed race and hence there were loads of others riders about. Anyway, got in a nice sprint and finished 247 on the road (now dropped to 251 so i guess there must have been a few late starters)Best intentions of having a pootle. 650 started and I was happy trundling along in about 150th. Should have waited for me .... I was not too far behind you. Sore legs now! I was waiting for you to come past me up the KOM, which I guess you did at some stage but I didn't see you. What, the 24.17 time?!? You can leave that alone mate
I found that quite tough even though a fair bit slower than usual up to the KOM. Managed to stay with a group on the down and into the jungle but we split and my group gradually crumbled away until only 2 of us left and so we eased until the volcano when the sneaky bugger pulled 5w out the bag and raced off. So, finished about 215th and in 1h 17.50.
Epic KOM Zwift verified . 7 seconds difference.Next time I'll try View attachment 402491

Didn't see @bobinski on the ride but checking the results he finished 1 min 40 ahead of me.
My time was 1:19:22 so quite pleased all in given I'm really not a climber![]()
Sorry Bob, didn't see you but if I was pushing 3.5 w/k at that point I couldn't have gone faster anyway. Didn't see any messages. I did, for the first time, have the app open on Android phone but I was too tired to check itI saw you Carl and messaged you 3 times. I did wait for you on KOM , just after the bridge, and you were pushing 3.5w at 5s behind when I pressed on at same wattage but you disappeared behind lots of other riders. Do you use the companion app?
That’s a really good time.
