Also rode the ZRL tonight. Had a full complement of teammates and the climbers managed to bag some points on the climbs early doors whilst I just clung on for dear life near the front group  Managed to recover along the flatter sections by hiding in the pack and by the end of the second lap I’d attained a ghost/invisible power up that I cheekily used as we started the third lap.As I reappeared I’d got a 7 second gap so settled in to TT mode and, with the chasers not working together I built up a sizeable lead before each climb that came down worryingly but managed to stretch it back out again On the descents and flatter sections. By the time I got to the last climb before the finish I’d managed to have a 30 second gap so rode within myself to have my first ZRL win by 15 seconds. ^_^

Awesome well done.

Surprised with how well I did given my dislike of the course - 6th across the line, upgraded to 5th as one of the leaders got DQ'd for going over ZMAP limits.

Saved my energy on the first lap and picked off riders later on - positions got better at every banner: 25th, 19th, 13th, 10th, 8th, 7th. Struggled with Libby as per usual, but by using the London escalator trick, always managed to overtake a handful of riders on 23rd Street.

Really love that Richmond course. Paul unfortunately wasn't well and missed out on a race that he would have excelled in but it was great for me and Bram to have a DS.

Not sure why but everything clicked really, took 5 of the sprints 3 second places and the win, have never been able to really stick with leaders over governors but I think a tough attritional race meant everyone else was exhausted too. Bram got podium in all but one of the sprints as well (and a hairs breath behind me a couple of times). Our team isn't really in contention so didn't really have to worry about any tactical issues and other teams did the chasing/pulling so that maybe played into our hands a bit. The quite long lull in between the two points climbs was just enough to recover. It is B3 development as well in fairness.

Hoping Paul's video uploads okay even if it's only me who watches it 🤣 Glad to hear it was a successful race across the board today
