To make it a 'proper' Cyclechat race would we all have to ride in the same Cat .... which to avoid being called out as a cheat or sandbagger we'd have to ride in the highest category for the group (so if @bridgy is riding we'd all have to be in A, if no Bridgy then all in B etc).

Saying that, I've no idea what a Kiss 100 is ... is it a race or a long pootle? Could be good getting a few of us in a race at some stage anyway.

Q. How does restarting the Pro once in Zwift help? When the Pro/Zwift is playing up it's really obvious to spot and maybe then stop/starting the Pro will restart the connection but not sure it will do anything when it's not playing up. Maybe we can tempt @Jim Brown , @AAAC 76C , @BILL S etc across too on the free Zwift ride and have a good old get together race but with loads of other peeps along for the ride

It is a race^_^ I agree most of us should race in say Cat B.

Have you not seen Bridges post where he recognises Bkool watts and resets the turbo? I suppose the issue is recognising when it’s playing up or simply restarting anyway once in Zwift. I don’t think Paul has reported the issue continuing after a restart.
I'm happy to jump up to B so we can all race together. I wouldn't see you guys after the start but at least we could compare results afterwards :okay: Just need to find a day/time that's suitable for all

Carl, your times suggest you are B- see Andy’s post. You are faster than me over the full lap and that’s when you found it sometimes easy and me pretty bloody hard. So, based on yesterday’s time I, in fact most of us will be chasing you:okay: Run (ride) Forest run....

I did see Paul's post and I have had a couple of times when there was obviously something wrong but I've only quit and restarted Zwift. Fixed it one time, didn't the second hence why that second time I didn't join a race. Have not tried switching off the trainer mid ride, but then I've not had the Pro 'too easy' problem since Paul made his post.

Happy to do this though next time before joining the race pen to see if it makes any difference.

I think I only posted such fast times yesterday because I was in a large group for most of the race. For one section, lasted about 10 minutes, the group didn't go below 50 kph. I'd say at least 20 of us, maybe more, in the group. Fair flying! Many may have been on their limits though as we dropped a few when we hit a hill - me and a few others burst out and dropped onto another group just up the road (this is where I had to hold 350 bkool watts to bridge the gap).

Must say though, riding with so many others was a real challenge. Constantly watching your and their avatars. Checking their power, looking up and down the road for opportunities. Covering breaks. Trying not to get dropped, or just as bad jumping off the front and being left out to dangle. Would definitely be up for that again.

As much as I enjoyed racing on bkool that was maninly about you lot. Zwift is different, draft is and feels different and so racing even fast group riding is a more visual and I think strangely a more visceral experience and mentally challenging. On a course like that you have to be concentrating, drafting from rider to rider while still putting out decent watts and I find that alone pretty tiring.

Ive only done about 30 miles in zwift I think, but it means I can come to discussion like this with fresh eyes so to speak. One thing I need to get used to is the dash board or lack of it. The graphics are fun but the stats seem spread around the top of the screen a little too much for me. Feels a bit style of substance. Having said that I really like the added info on riders near you. I think it’s a great touch. Especially compared to BKOOL where the in-race rider info was quite sketchy to say the least. Zwift is super slick in comparison to BKOOL that’s for sure.

With regards drafting it feels more stable in a way. You can still overshoot people but it feels more controllable than BKOOL even with my limited experience. Having said that the drafting graphic on BKOOL was useful.

You can see other segments in Strava. At the bottom of the page, there are hidden segments look in there. You can select Cyclechat members for comparison

Do you know what the respective times are for us all? Do you see this on Strava somewhere?

TT apparently user customisation is coming but no fixed date. I am used to it now though it took a while. I used to be fixated on looking at peoples w/k figure and it is helpful but not so much if you dont know their weight! This is one of reasons for endless complaints on the watts p/k rides where people dont understand yet that 2w/k for 65kilos will produce somewhat different watts to a 90 kilo rider.
I would like to be able to see a clearer route profile but only because i struggle to see it on the screen if i forget to wear my glasses.

Your power/cadence/HR are top left
The route/gradient/ride profile are top right
other riders nearby their stats/mileage/W/Kg middle right

Drafting I can overshoot a little sometimes, I thought it was because I'll put in big watts to catch up and being heavier, momentum carries me forward more.
Bob mentions W/Kg not being so important, but you can instantly see when someone puts the hammer down or fades with fatigue. Also if you look at the avatar you can tell if its a big rider like me or Lee type physique, they have even sized the avatars

There are multiple segments for the figure 8, I didn’t spot the official segment. I was showing Carl how to find segments and filter riders he knows.
