It’s funny. Most 11-28 cassettes jumps from 15 to 17 teeth. When I’m flying around Regent’s Park I often with I had the 16t as the gear either side just feels a little the wrong side of perfect for me.

I've combined two Shimano Cass to give one tooth jumps from 12 to 19. For flat roads it was perfect.

Is there a Martin Norris here? Enjoyed our game of Cat and mouse on the BRT Groupetto we formed last night!

With the higher cadences now being used by many/most why not use a Junior cassette? 14-28 with 14 to 21 being sequential. 14 @90 cadence is over 25 mph on a 50 chainring and 27mph on a 52.

When I am at a sensible weight it is what I'll be using, at least on the flat.

For cruise speeds it's a good solution, but it lacks just enough for slight declines, like I found out @IOW spinning upto 110 rpm was too much for the heart rate. 32mph @ 90-95 is much more manageable- that's what I needed

I could probably do away with 11t under most circumstances. But I’ll use both 12 and 13 a fair amount.

Really what I should probably do is put a 11-23 or 11-25 on my 60mm deep rims. And just use them on flat days. But they such great wheels I find it hard to swap them out to often. Having said that I just got a new hub fitted to the 40mm ones so they’re probably going to get more bike time now. The added weight of the 60’s prob isn’t noticeable going up hill but they can be a bit of a handful going back down. As demonstrated by bridgy and me on the IOW

Any of you guys in the World Cup league thing?
I didn't know anything about it but just looked it up and if it's this you mean - https://cvrworldcup.com/ - I've just registered.

I'll be racing at 7pm on Tuesdays in Bracket B initially. Rules/format is quite complicated and long winded so I'm not sure I completely understand it all but I thought I'd register anyway and hopefully give it a go!

That’s it. I didn’t read up on it too much either but I think it’s it a league format so that could be good.

Seems like there’s some type of pre season races then the main event kicks off in January.

Yep, that would be me

I enjoyed the race too - what is your Zwift name @mythste ?

Stephen Turner. I broke away from the group on the second run up box hill, then suffered a trainer disconnection on the downhill and had to drop 600 watts on the last quarter mile to make up the places I lost!

I think we kept switching draft on the second lap with 3 others

I will be joining in from January. Would be good to get as many of us involved as possible.
