Absolute carnage from the sprint banner when team mate dropped an aero and went long. Only just managed to hang on as had been suffering throughout. Lesson here is to dig in and pace will ease as they're all hurting. First over the line got a DQ for breaching new 5 min power rule :-)

Dave I watched this from your Strava feed and thought you did fantastically well to hang in there. Great finish. Getting the result must have felt fantastic.

A belated Happy Christmas everybody - I've been feeling completely crap with severe man-flu since last Thursday and haven't even thought about getting on my bike (or going online). Christmas was a weird haze of alcohol, painkillers and fever - very surreal!! Coming out of the haze now finally and looking forward to getting back in the saddle soon...

Merry Christmas Paul, glad you're feeling better, I came down with a mild cold over Xmas. Worse was the ear ache I got. I think I've cured it with gargling neat alcohol .

Merry Christmas Paul. That doesn’t sound nice! It’s been a bit quiet here as we all recover from Xmas excess/illness/injury but I am expecting things to warm up a bit in the segment thread.

Mine was in the Euston Station tube

First I tried Vicks vapour rub, which worked temporarily, then head over boiling water with Vicks, much better. Still pain returned. I then googled common cures. Gargling with salt/TCP/alcohol mouth wash helps. It did for me, almost instant relief. The gunk I spat out from gargling indicated where the infection layxx(

To be honest I was gobsmacked as I was nearly spat out twice before the start of the video. I nearly caved at top of climb as I was on limit and had 4 bpm to 'play' with but I just managed to stay in touch. Fortunately the others were hurting so I was able to get HR under control before the 'sprint'. Only one in group managed over 10 w/kg for 15 secs, so fast was the last +2km. In fact I took 7 secs off my PB from Sprint Banner to Finish :-)

That sounds worse than my man flu, mine started Friday, I managed a zwift ride Saturday afternoon, and felt rubbish on Christmas Eve. I cooked and got through Christmas dinner and spent most of boxing day in bed. Starting to feel better now but will miss the club Waterloo to Basingstoke off road ride tomorrow instead a gentle zwift ride awaits then back out in the real world on Saturday with a few club mates.

Sounds like a fair few of us got the Xmas bug
I kept my health  But then we've been avoiding anyone with kids so that probably helped :okay:

... and plan to do the WBR Race at 5.15 today if anyone up for it. First ride in 5 days.

Got Zwift working on my new laptop (updated Windows 10 and the Graphics Drivers) and connected to the Big Screen by Bluetooth. Hopefully it will all work now
