Just done ToW Stage 2 again after a day off. Did 49.25 this time Carried on and clocked my best ever hour power of 254W so quite pleased and off for a celebratory beer now

There is now a data field for the garmin devices that works out your activity in number of beers consumed. Search the connect iq shop

Let @peterob know your ToW stage 1 time and I'm sure when he has a moment he'll add you to the spreadsheet. A number of people will ride stage 2 tomorrow at 7pm UK time, but if you can't make that then when you have completed Stage post up your ZwiftPower time on here and Pete can update the spreadsheet.

Looks like you'll be an added challenge for Pete, Bridgy, Berty and Andy Long. By the looks of it you're all pretty evenly matched

You never congratulate me for losing weight ..... bloody favouritism that is p.s. 77.7kg today

My virus assisted weight loss programme has seen me drop 2kg to 78.9kg.

I think there is scope for a further reduction as my sinuses seem to have around 2kg of snot washing around in them!

Not sure if I’ll make tomorrow’s ToW.

Rode for the first time since last Tuesday’s ToW ride. Kept it easy and limited it to 30 minutes, as I’ve still got some sinus problems. Wasn’t too bad if I stayed near to 2W/kg, but when I start to push it and as I head towards 3W/kg breathing gets much harder with quite a bit of coughing.

Based on tonight I’d struggle to compete as I did last week (even with my super-duper weight loss!).

If I feel well enough, I may just ride to set a time and then try and re-ride during the recovery week/s.

I did stage 2 earlier at 48:35. Just about enough to go back to the top on the back of my strong stage 1 time. But that could all change tomorrow when the masses hit the 7pm 'race'. I'll update the table again after that event tomorrow.

Week 3 of the TdW is a group ride, so no league results next week. That suits me as I'll be in sunny Spain. I suggest you all eat and drink far too much next week, as that is what I'll be doing

I went with Shimano Ultegra 8k due to the kit already on the Cube. If I get to my target shortly I may put sram on my GT Grade, no internal routing on the Grade Al X. Can't go with the new force etap setup as the discs brake calipers are flat mount only and I don't think the GT has flat mount positions.

I was reading JoeFriels blog and I found this calc for whether its better to stand or stay seated whilst cycling uphills.

. The lower your body mass the more advantageous it is to stand on a climb. The greater your mass the better off you’ll be staying seated. One quick and simple way to come up with your body mass is to divide your weight in pounds (1kg = 2.2lbs) by your height in inches (1cm = 0.4in). So if you weigh 154 pounds (70kg) and you are 72 inches (180cm) tall your “mass” is 2.13 (154 / 72 = 2.13). I’ve found that for males the best climbers are at less than 2.0. These folks should stand a lot (think of Marco Pantani). Men in the range of 2.0 to 2.3 tend to alternate between standing and sitting a lot (for example, Lance Armstrong). Those men at 2.3 to 2.5 are best advised to sit a lot (like Miguel Indurain). Folks over 2.5 usually avoid hills. Women should use a scale which is about 0.2 lbs/in less (for example, under 1.8 are climbers).

In the 77 region again today. Hopefully within the next week I'll be 77.5kg or below so I can update my weight again in Zwift My target was 75kg by ToC, and at this rate I could be achieving this. Those doing the ToC won't recognise the new, slim Whorty (or, I've been weight doping all this time and the truth with come out in June )

I'm currently 2.48 ..... so I have no excuse left to avoid hills At my target weight of 70kg I'll be 2.23 so it will be alternating for me (similar to what I do now, but I mostly stand now to stretch the legs).
